Why no instructions ?

Scriptures teach clearly how a wife is to treat her husband.
Scriptures teach clearly how a husband is to treat his wife.
Scriptures teach clearly how we are to treat virgins.
Scriptures teach clearly how we are to treat widows.
Scriptures teach clearly how we are to treat elderly.

My Question is this, Why are they absolutely no instructions whatsoever how a man is to treat His husband, or a woman to treat her wife ?
Where are the instructions that outline who is the head of the house in a man/ man relationship ? or who is the Head of the house in a woman / woman relationship ?

which is the husband and which is the wife ? which one is to be reverenced ? Scriptures clearly teach us how a man is to treat His wife that is a virgin, but altogether fails to say anything at all about how a man is to treat his husband? Why is that ?

hmmmm how about this: you treat the ones you love with respect and put thier needs first? Wouldn't that cover it?
For example:
fake Ephisians 5: 33 said:
33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love your beloved even as yourself; and let the beloved see that they reverence their loved one.
See? It's not as hard as we make it appear. :)

This would only makes sense if you aren't deceived and/or blinded from the truth. The Bible, and yes Jesus plainly speak of what marriage should be, but if that isn't the answer you want then you can't see it.

Instead we see questions ask about how the Bible doesn't speak about cars or even computers, and think that shows something.

The Bible tells us how we are to avoid certain thinks like fleshly lusts, so that would tell us that we shouldn't look at porn on a computer. So again, it's in there. The Bible covers everything we need to know, and we don't even have to cross our eyes to see it.

The Bible tells us not to do things in excess, so again, that would mean me shouldn't spend to much time on the computer, neglecting other things like time with the Lord and family.

The Bible is the living word of God, and it is so neat to see how even today with all the culturial changes over the last 2000 years it still can lead and quide us through our short time in this dark world. It is so neat to know that God and Jesus don't change, and that they love us so much, even when we continue to fall so short of what we can and should be in Christ.

Our Sunday School listen was so relevent for today. It was over 2 Peter 2, and the spiritual errors that are running so rampant today. I am praying about starting a thread about and including it, but am still in prayer about that.

Christ also never talked about how you should treat women (in etiquette, not marriage and not just virgins and widows). He didn't talk about how children should treat their parents either.

Remember that while it is "inspired", the Bible can still easily contain hidden biases, either written their by the prophets and disciples on accident (from their Jewish upbringing) or just because that was still the norm of the day. The Jewish law was still the higher law and the Jewish law fairly obviously says it's wrong. BUT there were reasons for this beyond "Well it's just wrong". So saying "Oh but the Bible never SAYS anything about same sex messages (except to condemn)" is a fallacy. (It's a fallacy anyway because why repeat yourself when the marriages are almost exactly the same in how the newlyweds treat each other).

I will have to go check my Greek, but wondering which form of love it is speaking of here. To love someone like ourselves would kind of take out the form of love that includes sex, I would think. You know I don't think the Bible speaks about us having sexual relations with ourselves, does it?

If we are to love our enemies like we are told to in Matt 5:44 and Luke 6:27, would that not cover woman too? If we are to love one another as we are told to do in John 15:12, 17, wouldn't that include woman? Again if we are to love the brotherhood like we are told to in 1 Peter 2:17, would that not include woman?

Romans 12:9-10 speaks of brotherly love, so again would not women be involved in this love? So many scriptures tell us to love our neighbors, and so again, since some of our neighbors are woman?

What woman would not be included if we are to love our enemies, neighbors and our brotherhood?

He didn't talk about how children should treat their parents either.

I believe He did speak about how a child should treat their parents as shown below. He plainly shows us how the Ten Commandments are still relevent, and they tell us how we are to treat our parents.

Commandment 5 "For God commanded saying, 'Honor your father and your mother' and 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death'" (Mat 15:4-6). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mat 19:19). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mk 7:10). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mk 10:19). "You know the commandments:...Honor your father and your mother" (Luke 18:20).

No no, that would be assuming. You can't ASSUME women are included any more then you can't assume that a same-sex marriage would be include. After all, they use the term HE not HE or SHE. Therefore, by your logic, they're only talking about men. (See what I mean?)

How about parents treating their children?

Ephesians 6:1-4
Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

erm, where is that in the Bible?

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (NKJ, Leviticus 18:22)
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (NKJ, Leviticus 20:13)
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NIV, 1st Corinthians 6:9-11)

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-- who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. (NIV, Romans 1:25-27)

and how would you translate it?

So a male can't lie with a male as a woman because it is an abomination, but I am sure that God would be okay with men marrying each other....makes no sense to me.

Men can't lie with men and women can't lie with women so then no they can not get married.

It says it right there in the scripture that it is abomination for men to lie with men so then why would it be okay to get married?

Because God does not allow gay marriages and considers it to be an abomination.
still, the argument keeps on being about literalism/interpretation, is not like is going to end up somewhere....

How about parents treating their children?

I started to copy/paste all the Greek definitions for brotherhood, neighbor, etc., but then I realized that if you were wanting to know what was and is meant you would have already looked them up.

Jesus spoke of His love for children and even told His disciples to not forbid them to come to Him setting the example of how precious they are. He told us that we had to believe like a child, so I think that if we look at the scriptures, well it is pretty clear how children should be treated.

Here are some scriptures tho:

Matt. 19:13-14
13Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Matt. 18:4-6
4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

I would assume that by using the word whoso that that would include parents, but .....................:sigh:

LOL! I guess it would depend on what you think the sin of Onan was. :)
tulc(going driving, be back later) :)

I guess we understand the scriptures about Onan in Genesis differently.

I see Onan having sex with his brothers widow, and because he didn't want to have a child pulling out before he planted a seed. I don't see anything about him having sex with himself, but if you have other scriptures that would change my understanding of Genesis 38 let me know and I will study them, thanks.
