  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why is this happening?

I am trying my hardest to get back to school full time next year because I've been gone. I honestly do believe at one point that God promised me this would happen, some things have happened and I'm wondering if God isn't changing His mind. I hope it's just the enemy messing with me or if it's just a matter of repenting of something like the Ninevites, but I don't know what to do. The issue is money and I'm scared that He won't provide. What to do?

First and foremost, be patient and try not to fret over things. I struggle with patience and i know its difficult, but we must be patient.

Second, seek things above, not things on the earth. This doesn't mean that seeking employment is wrong but if we don't get something then dont let it lead you astray from the path of seeking the kingdom. This world will try to lead us astray.

We cannot know what Gods plan is, but if we trust him and are patient, then God will give us what we need. Other than that, i have no other advice. I hope it helps.

Thank You. I guess I'm figuring the worst will happen because it's me. Frankly I do not expect anything good to ever happen to me.

:) I think like that too at times. I have grown to expect the worse. However, things are not always as bad as they may seem. Hang in there sister.

Ok.....my parents literally gave me the ultimatum.....move in with family and take out loans and go back next year, or they will kick me out......I'm afraid God is going to punish me for taking loans out because the Bible says debt is a bad idea

God wont punish you. He will let you make your own choices and face your own consequences. Dept may or may not be a bad idea. It depends. I buy things on credit all the time. I bought my computer on credit. I made payments on it through an online store.

I think credit cards are not wise because they have high interest rates and they keep you in debt

God will not punish you for taking out loans. God will not punish you for mistakes in life choices. God may let natural consequences result from poor choices, but He is not vengeful. God loves you and wants good things for you. He will provide for your needs. What you actually need may not be what you think you need, but either way God will take care of you. Take a breathe. Do your best. Trust in God.

God promises to do His word. At a minimum 3 John 2 applies to a Spirit-led child of God. To doubt that He will not do His word is not what you want to do. Use your time instead getting a revelation of God's faithfulness. That will take spending some time in the word and enhancing your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Note that the enemy messes with people 24/7 so that is going to be hard to avoid. Instead, get a revelation of the dominion we, as overcoming Christians, have over the enemy.

Thank you, but I know there are times when God promises something and then seemingly changes his mind. I truly believe this is happening.

Maybe sometimes God seems to change his mind but God remains faithful even when we do not. He himself will not turn back on a promise. I'm sorry to hear you are in this dilemma. What is that other verse on borrowing and being in debt in the Bible? I know there is a verse in Proverbs, but it is more of a wise generalization/observation than a commandment.
