  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I felt so upset when I realized that the guy whom I liked, abused my offer to be there for him, by lying to me that he needed me to be there for him cos he felt he wasn't good enough for work, when in fact he was upset that the other girl he wanted was not showing much interest in him in return.

How can someone do this to someone who likes him? Abusing her love? How can he come to her for "support" and "love" and hugs, when he is feeling sad that someone else he likes seems to be ignoring him, or when she isn't around for him? And worse, how can he lie to the person who likes him? He calls her his "friend", but treats her more like a disrespected backup whom he turns to when things don't go well with his main interest, and expects on-demand love and support from? He one-sidedly determined this "friend" to be his support, and therefore expected her to make him feel better whenever he felt low cos of his main interest. And when she did not, he would get upset with her. ><

To use your admirer's feelings for you isn't right in the first place, to call her and lead her on as your "friend", while treating her as a disrespected backup for your own pleasure and ego boost, is even worse, and then worse than that, is how he immediately dropped that "admirer", after she found out about what he had been up to, and how he had only been leading her on to use her in that way for up to 2 years plus.

All along she hoped for more with him, and tried to be a good friend to him. Yet he just took her pretty much for granted, treating her shabbily whenever she was around, yet not letting her leave (and even got upset), whenever she wanted to move on from him. He would be pleased that she still liked him and could not get over him, and wanted her love for himself. Yet he wasn't willing to respect her or love her or commit to her in return, but only sought to keep her around as a backup, or lead her on so as to experience being chased and desired by her, with little interest in her in return.

He also wanted sex from this admirer, and got upset when he could not get it from her. He would be proud, tell her he still wanted to meet her, but then turn her down easily, cancel plans last-minute, or only make last minute or very loose plans with her, and also go tell his main interest about how this girl was desperately trying to chase him (when he was the one who led her on to, in a way). So as to look desirable in front of his main interest.

And the very moment this admirer of his realized all that he had been doing, she confronted him, and he quickly ignored her and dropped her altogether, saying that he no longer has time for her. By this time he already managed to be with his main interest. After having used his admirer as his backup for two years, and chasing his main interest at the same time, his main interest finally broke up with her ex-boyfriend and returned his interest. And as he realized he could no longer use this admirer of his, he decided to drop her just like that.

How could someone be like this guy?

Why is he like this? ><

Why is he like this? ><

Because he increases his odds if he has two things going at once. Especially if the two objects of affection let him do so. I'm sure it's painful, but think of it as though you have escaped danger. And there is no need to put yourself back in the danger zone.

Did his admirer tell him that she wanted more than friendship?

Or did she present herself as a friend?

First off we all lie and perhaps the greatest lie we tell ourselves is that we never lie. Secondly those asking if he is a Christian is moot. I have seen no evidence that Christians lie any less than non-theists. We lie because we want something and know that we cannot get it through being honest or know that we will get what we want easier by lying. We also lie because we cannot accept a truth thus we delude ourselves into believing that a lie is truth or a truth is a lie. As for what you should do. Well if you are being lied to and see no reason to believe the liar will change, then it is best to move on and find a better friend. Trust is of paramount importance in friendship.
