When comparing the date of the earth to how long it has been in existence, what's a hundred years or so going to make a difference?
Young earth creationism/literal translation of Genesis. What is the conclusion that the Earth is only six thousand years old based on?
Is there any recorded history or calendars in existence that predates 3761 BC?
The only other ancient calendar I know of is the Chinese calendar which only goes back to 2637 BC.
Scripture does not give us the age of the earth only the age and geneology of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I personally think "man" made in God's image is different from "creatures" , which I belive includes prehistoric humanoids, in Genesis. human type creature. My take anyway.

What ignoreth I?Ignoring, or just not knowing about, certain basic facts = ignorance, not simplicity.
And who or what is "Clio"?When comparing the date of the earth to how long it has been in existence, what's a hundred years or so going to make a difference?
Usher says the earth was created in 4004 BC; Clio says it formed around 4,500,000,000 BC.
Meh.
Does it matter? And who or what is "Clio"?
Well, I meant Ussher (Usser?), not your good self. I am certain you wouldn't be caught ignoreth-ing anything. By ignoring like a lot of theologians then and now he could have taken a gander at Jewish writings questioning the extended lifespans of biblical characters, by ignorant I mean he wouldn't have had access to only recently translated texts (tablets) from around the same period with similar people living a very long time type scenarios, indicating there was some purpose to that other than a kind of medical record. What ignoreth I?
Ya ... um ...Well, I meant Ussher (Usser?), not your good self. I am certain you wouldn't be caught ignoreth-ing anything. It seems the people who were alive, beginning to live in settled groups, making pottery and whatever else they got up to before that didn't get the memo. Unless perhaps you think god created everything they left behind just to mess with your head.Ya ... um ...

You were there? It seems the people who were alive, beginning to live in settled groups, making pottery and whatever else they got up to before that didn't get the memo. Unless perhaps you think god created everything they left behind just to mess with your head.
What does that have to do with it?You were there?
God didn't "leave traces of human life" lying around like some litterbug.A god who left traces of human life way older than 6,000 years just - well why exactly?
Reading selectively to confirm what you already think makes your whole life pointless.God didn't "leave traces of human life" lying around like some litterbug.
In addition, science can't find traces of two million Jews on a peninsula, even with the Bible having documented every place they visited in detail.
When it comes to the Bible, scientists do sloppy -- and I mean SLOPPY -- work.
Then show me where I'm wrong.Reading selectively to confirm what you already think makes your whole life pointless.
I don’t have enough fingers. Educate yourself, you’ll thank yourself for it.Then show me where I'm wrong.
LOL -- science's best tools can't confirm one single miracle in the Bible.I don’t have enough fingers. Educate yourself, you’ll thank yourself for it.
There are more things involved than science and the bible.LOL -- science's best tools can't confirm one single miracle in the Bible.
So you can have all the fingers and toes you want, but the equipment you're using them on is a joke and an embarrassment.
And which one(s) of those things "left traces of human life way older than 6,000 years" just lying around? There are more things involved than science and the bible.
Neither, the people living at the time and before quite happily left their own traces, without help from either science or the bible. Unless you want to define things like making pots (and potter's wheels) as scientific. And which one(s) of those things "left traces of human life way older than 6,000 years" just lying around?
