They seem to think it's a matter of salvation. How come?
Hi FO, nice to meet you.
Perhaps this might help. Sin is defined in the scriptures as breaking anyone of Gods' 10 commandments in James 2:10-11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20. God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments as shown in Exodus 20:8-11. Sin is also defined in the scriptures as not believing Gods' Word *Romans 14:23.
Now we have defined what sin is let's read Hebrews 10:26-31.
Hebrews 10:26-31 [26],
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, [27],
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28], He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29], Of
how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace? [30], For we know him that has said,
Vengeance belongs to me, I will recompense, said the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31],
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Now note from the scriptures above;
- For them by continuing in known unrepentant sin there is no forgiveness of sin because they are continuing in unrepentant sin after they have been given a knowledge of the truth of Gods' Word which they choose to reject *Hebrews 10:27.
- They will be receiving Gods' Judgements which will devour them *Hebrews 10:27; 29 because they counted the blood of the covenant an unholy thing doing despite to the Spirit of Gods' grace. They will receive Gods' vengeance and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God *Hebrews 10:30-31.
Now you tell me are these people in a saved state with God or an unsaved state with God according to
Hebrews 10:26-31 after they received a knowledge of the truth of Gods' Word and choose to reject it in order to continue in known unrepentant sin?
There is not a single scripture in all of Gods' Word that says Sunday of the first day of the week is "the Lords day". Just like there is not a single scripture in all of God's Word that says that Gods' 4th commandment of the 10 commandments has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day in honor of the resurrection of Jesus. Sunday worship is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God. Jesus tells us in His own words if we choose to follow man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God we are not worshiping God in Matthew 15:2-9. I believe this is the testing question that is will be coming to everyone of us before Jesus returns. Who do we believe and follow; God or man?
Take Care.
