Scripture can be (mis)used for anything, Bible has 1000 pages, its a lot of text to find anything. Our beliefs are scripturally sound.
There are many SDAs who became SDA’s because of the Bible and nothing to do with Ellen White. While you are allowed to say anything you like, doesn’t make it true.Scripture can be (mis)used for anything, Bible has 1000 pages, its a lot of text to find anything.
But your specific obsession with 10 commandments, Sabbath, vegetarianism and last days is not because "Its in the Bible", but because its what your prophetess said to you that you must concentrate on.
After they got there, Ellen White it is. Because its the SDA.There are many SDAs who became SDA’s because of the Bible and nothing to do with Ellen White
Why not spend less time talking about people and prove through scripture that they are wrong.I have been visiting SDA for some months many years ago, we also had her books, like the Great Controversy, at home.
They try to act as a normal Christian church to outsiders, but later people may find out they are not. They are close relatives to Jehovah Witnesses, in the end, so no suprise.
This thread is not about proving SDA wrong. This thread is about "why are SDA so obsessed with the Sabbath".Why not spend less time talking about people and prove through scripture that they are wrong.
I am not SDA. The best reason to be obsessed with the Sabbath is that God is obsessed with the Sabbath and obsessively called for His people to repent from breaking it. Our salvation is from sin (Matthew 1:21) and sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4), which includes God's command to keep the Sabbath holy (Exodus 20:8-11), so while we do not earn our salvation by keeping the Sabbath holy, part of the content of God's gift of salvation is the delight of being saved from the experience of breaking the Sabbath. What is holy to God should not be profaned by man, so we would still be obligated to keep the Sabbath holy even if God had never commanded anyone to do that. They seem to think it's a matter of salvation. How come?
Their so called prophetess Ellen White had a vision of 10 commandments and the one about Sabbath to be over them all.

The answer is because their prophetess told them to be. She had a "vision" and in it she saw the commandment about Sabbath to be the most important thing in the Bible.

It's yet another case of a Hislop-influenced person assuming that all of Christianity has fallen away from the truth and they are on some mission to set all things right. If we give it even a cursory look-see we find that Christianity is a dead religion and for some reason someone decided to revive it centuries after it died out.
Based on my conversations with Mormon missionaries, SDA seems to have have the same basic premise as LDS. Christianity became completely corrupt and apostate within a very short time. And then in the 19th century their prophet was given special revelations and visions to restore Christianity to what it was. And therefore they are the only church that God recognizes as His.
The Jehovah's Witnesses are the same. So are the Christadelphians and thousands of other groups. It begs the question, is God's Church the greatest failure in history?
They seem to think it's a matter of salvation. How come?
There is no need to spread misinformation Dan from the words of website. Let's talk scripture?Ellen White
I respectfully disagree. One would have to not read their bible to come up with that conclusion. Let's talk scripture? But your specific obsession with 10 commandments, Sabbath, vegetarianism and last days is not because "Its in the Bible", but because its what your prophetess said you must concentrate on.
