Why is satan the bad guy?

God ISN'T sitting back. He's the ultimate opposite of that. He gave and gives everything to us. You're speaking of nerve, but you have no idea yet about how good the God is whom I worship. And if you really don't believe in my God, then blame yourself, me and your peers. Stop pointing tiny fingers at an infinite God who's ways are so far beyond ours. Stop blaming God for an earth you say he didn't create and has no involvement in. Please,

No point having a conversation with me until you acknowledge what the source says about Satan. He is the father of lies, accuser of children and the destroyer of faith. The Bible is not ambiguous. God is the creator, perfect and just. Satan was created, became full of pride and fell.

It's not "100%" false. You keep viewing creation through this non-existent lens where anything created stands on it's own two legs. Hence why you revere the creation of the dragon. You don't see that it's just a sub-creature with no power or purpose compared to God. Without God, nothing exists.

When God said not to not disobey him, he knew that man would die. Man knew too, but we disobeyed anyway. We chose something that is not of God, who knows no evil. God knows no sin, but we do. We ate from the tree, gained the knowledge of evil and now we die. We can't live in a state of imperfection. Look at our bodies. God made us perfect and we became imperfect and vulnerable. We thought we would be like God in this knowledge, because we believed the liar Satan, but though God knows about sin he has never sinned. Satan lied and we bought the lie because we thought we could be like God.

Oh, great. Just point us at a link which stokes the ego of "Sam Harris", who "gets what he wants" and thanks (something..) for Sam Harris, for gracing us with his wisdom.

You are sure going to find a lot of truth there. If you can see past the Everest sized ego and the hero worship that places "Sam Harris" above you or I.

So you're not going to respond to what the video says. That was my internal prediction, so I owe myself some chips later today.

You are sure going to find a lot of truth there. If you can see past the Everest sized ego and the hero worship that places "Sam Harris" above you or I.

As I recall, Dr. Harris believes in determinism (as opposed to myself) and doesn't think any person has one iota of a reason to think more highly of their self over another human.

So, before God and others, please answer this one question honestly, knowing that a false statement is sin to Yahweh:

Did you or did you not watch the entire video before replying to it?

Buy yourself a whole bag of chips because there's no way im eating french fries when God offers me steak.

As for his humility, just read the video description. You obviously think so highly of him that you feel the need to stick up for him.

Also, with all love and respect don't mock or tempt The Lord with what might constitute a sin. As an accuser, you have no right to throw stones at the Kingdom's children or invoke the name of God as though he were your personal hitman.

Regardless of what we're eating, my expectation was correct.

As for his humility, just read the video description. You obviously think so highly of him that you feel the need to stick up for him.

The video was made by someone besides him. It takes something he said in a debate and adds graphics. I agree with Harris on some things and disagree with him on others. I have that ability because I have the mental capacity to listen to what he says and evaluate it. Because you lack the mental capacity to even listen to his statements, you lack the ability to evaluate it.

Also, with all love and respect don't mock or tempt The Lord with what might constitute a sin. As an accuser, you have no right to throw stones at the Kingdom's children or invoke the name of God as though he were your personal hitman.

Here's an idea for you - how about you stop referring to your deity as God? I find your deity, Yahweh, to be a reprehensible figure, disgusting and terrible. The actual creator of the universe, the real God, is likely much more intelligent.

Now, let's repeat the question:

So, before God and others, please answer this one question honestly, knowing that a false statement is sin to Yahweh:

Did you or did you not watch the entire video before replying to it?

No one asked if he is the good guy in the bible... Although he would be if you transposed the events into any other story.

The question was when you look at what God actually did... the killing of non believers and their children, the Believe or Burn policy, the suffering that he allows and does nothing about, the idea that every man will carry the burden of man's actions thousands of years ago, wiping out the entire planet in the flood etc... And compare that to what Satan did. Then we have to ask, why is satan the bad guy?

There is limited information about him in the bible, there's a lot of off hand comments about him but the only thing he really seems to have done is tell people not to follow Yahweh. And looking at his resume above... I think any sound minded person would do the same.

It doesn't matter what you, I, or anyone thinks of Sam Harris. His arguments stand on their own merits.

Why don't you take the time to see what his arguments are?

He is in the Bible, why are we talking about him if we aren't referencing the bible?

If you transpose the story, he's still the bad guy. He murders, lies and steals.

All your arguments are unfortunately based upon assuming that God is unjust and upon not understanding.

If you follow Satan you will die. If you follow Jesus you will live. The choice can't be that difficult.

As noted - the devil has ruined the lives of his closest followers and of all humanity.

Indeed - sin is self-limiting -- it leads to short-sighted-slavery-to-self at expense to all others.

in Christ,

Tell me exactly.. who did Satan murder in the bible?
John 8:44

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Like Charles Manson, Satan is guilty of murders even though he didn't commit them with his bare hands. All suffering and death traces back to him. He has been directly responsible for at least the death of Job's children and no one knows how many more, but indirectly responsible for countless numbers.

Wherever his spirit goes, so goes murder.
