"When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You ...

"I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You...

"I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me." (John 17:1-26)

You’re in a dark place, you have no joy, your mind is not working right, all symptoms of schizophrenia, you feel dead partly but you can get out and be a Christian and meet people. You are identified with your dark side and it is very developed and seems like the way things are. But it’s that other side you want to explore and find out what you’re feeling and feed, where joy and the fruits of the spirit are. The flesh first then the spirit. Take captive those thoughts as in 2Cor 10:3-5. Do what the Bible says, say you’re a Christian, try to have joy each day, laugh a little because you know it’s right not because you feel like it. It will release chemicals to make you feel better. God says rejoice, put it in motion. It might sound weird but what have got to lose, nobody is there. Work on yourself and don’t give the flesh its way. We have to work at it it but there is much to gain.

This is the result of negative thoughts. We have to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. WE can only allow ourselves to think positive thoughts. We have been washed and cleansed in the Precious Blood of Jesus.

I claim to be a Christian, but inside I feel dead and apathetic. My life is literally going nowhere. I've come to a point in my life where I don't know what to do anymore. Despite trying to get closer to God, I feel like there is no connection between us. I cannot hear his voice. If someone asked me if I love God, I would probably say "yes" but I wouldn't really mean it. I feel completely indifferent about God, and life too. I don't know the purpose of my life and I feel like I am just walking in darkness. When I read the Bible, I don't understand anything and the Holy Spirit does not help me to understand. I have suffered from depression and schizophrenia for several years, and despite asking God for help and healing from these conditions, he has not answered my prayer. I never have answered prayers.
I don't know which country you're in, but it might be helpful to find a group of people who are working through similar issues ie. depression and schizophrenia. Your Bio says "Colombo" so are we talking about Sri Lanka?

We have an organisation called GROW (Queensland, Australia), but it may not be available where you are. However there mgiht be something else around.

If you are in Colombo, Sri Lanka (?), this is one possible link - CAFS – A home away from home

Being out of work and living on social welfare can be frustrating in itself.

Sometimes we need to look around at other venues. God often works through other Christians so you might need to see if there are any Christian agencies which can help.

I had depression for some time, and I found a Christian psychiartrist who was very helpful. But that was in Queensland, Australia and he retired a couple of years ago anyway.
