Im not here to bash anyone. But i have a question. Why do I need Catholicism, EO, or any church who claims to be the true church? I know the Lord's commands and i dont need the doctrines of catholicism or other churches. So why does anyone need it? Doesn’t it only divide us? Shouldn't we take a more simplistic approach in order to have one mind in Christ?

Assemblies are for spiritual nourishment, learning, service, fellowship.

People have different understandings of what the Lord’s commands are, what it means to have faith, what it means to be in Christ, and so forth, so denominations are just groupings if people who have similar understandings.

Paul said that divisions prove that there is heresy present. He rebuked the Corinthians for their divisions.

Let's consider the example of the Church in Acts. A man believes in Jesus. Is that enough? No; see Acts 19 for two examples.
A council of apostles and elders says that the Jewish circumcision and dietary laws, with a few exceptions, are not incumbent on Christians. Can someone break away from them and "just follow Jesus" Who said that "not one iota" of the Law will pass away? No, because the decision against the Judaizers was guided by the Holy Spirit, Acts 15, so the council can't have contradicted the proper understanding of what Jesus meant, regardless of what someone's private interpretation is.
Can someone set himself up as a bishop independent of the Church? No, Acts 1, the office of bishop is originally held by the Apostles and their successors are consecrated by current holders of that office.

So you are saying that my faith and obedience is false?

You responded so quickly that there is no way you read my post and gave it more than a few seconds of consideration. I'm just going to stop responding to your stuff if you meet every response with this kind of hostility and willful ignorance.

Those whom the Lord has freed sufficiently, do not need any body promoting crosses whose nature has been proven to be of this world, no matter what their claims. I have found it wonderful for the conscience, to study those claims, compare the claims with that which Christ the Lord has said, and throw the claims out.

I do not know whether I should use that term "simplistic" as a contrast, but it could be quite functional.

I read it. I just read it again to see if I missed anything. Please answer the question. Why isn't my faith enough? Are you saying that my faith is ineffective?

If my faith is enough then the things that divide churches are unnecessary because I have none of those things. Therefore all they must do is get rid of unnecessary things in order to have unity. Do you see my point?

The catch is in those words "...all they must do...". It's not they who can clean themselves up; it is God alone who is good, and He will clean all who love Him, one day.

I'm just telling people the only way to unity.

This place is not a church fellowship.
Obviously. But I'm the church. I represent the church. The church goes with me wherever I go. I don't want to put stumbling blocks in people's way.
