Why is it so hard to have Faith?

You get into your car, without a single doubt that it will start right up; you get on a roller coaster in a major theme park, confident that everyone has done their job to keep the ride safe. You go to the doctor's office rest assured that your doctor knows what he is talking about and would never put your in harm's way.

All of these modern everyday things require one thing that is a major struggle for Christians today: FAITH Jesus said that if we had the faith of a mustard seed that we could move mountains, this may not mean actual mountains per se' but mountanious obstacles in our everyday lives.

We know that faith is a requirement in the Christian walk, without we cannot receive anything we pray for and most importantly without it we cannot please the Father (Heb 11:6) Why is it that we cannot remain strong in our faith? if it is because you cannot see the Father, that's not a very strong argument. You trust people everyday that you never see, you have to rely on oxygen that you cannot see or feel to keep you alive.

Just like the effects of the wind, you can't see it but you know it's there. Why? because you see the "effects" of the wind. Now, I'm not excluding myself in this thread because I too struggle with this most important factor in my walk with God. But I just don't understand why it is so hard for us to rely on a God who we cannot see, yet does everything he says He will.

Post your thoughts,
God bless

That's a good question, and one that i have struggled with often. I have been learning so much, but the most important thing i have learned recently is that the Father will give to those that ask.
And he is beginning to teach me about faith. I know now that faith is also a choice we make. Remember the one who wanted a miracle, and when Jesus asked him if he had faith, he replied, "i believe Lord, but help my unbelief." So that is a legitimate way to pray. We acknowledge our unbelief, but we also acknowledge it is working against our faith, and is an affront to the Lord.

How true is that?

We have faith on earthly things yet we can't stay faithful to God who is 100% trustworthy and reliable, Who never fails us nor disappoints us.

We should have that mindset: If there's a time when i should trust someone, it should be God. It should always be God.

I still have a long way to go. I really enjoy these spiritual poking threads CABL. Thanks.

ahh yes that faith of a mustard seed proportions. Sometimes I think my faith is that big and other times maybe it's not even close. I certainly haven't moved any mountains lately, but then again maybe I have. I've seen headaches and pain leave a person's body when I pray it to leave in faith as well as others praying it over me. I've seen situtations in my life resolve on mere faith alone. I am facing some of those situations right now. Why do we doubt so easily as humans. I say I have faith but then I doubt and leave the door open to failure. Lord God, please teach me how to trust in you more fully with every ounce of my being! Well, I'll work on this by the strength the Holy spirit provides for through him all things are possible. I think the starting point is love. Jesus says he is the vine and we are the branches and that if we bear fruit, anything we ask in his name will be granted. And the fruit he speaks of is love. So if we seek God and seek to love others we will bear fruit and then we can grow our faith in every day decisions (faith in God that is); all the while allowing God who is the gardener to prune away every branch which does not bear fruit. (ouch!) that may hurt but we are better off without those fruitless branches anyway, all the more room for fruit clusters to gather and seeds to spread in the wind to those around us. So if I love others my faith will spring into action? Hmm...I'm learning as I type cool....sorry, I will return this thought proccess to my head where it belongs for the time being.

Peace :)
