I've known women who've had abortions and I don't judge them either. It's their choice. I hate that they did it but it's their right. My best friend had one in high school. I hated it but I was there for her.
I'm gonna guess that since it's in your body, you have the right. Why can't people understand it's not about doing it, but the right to choose to do it?But surely you believe a woman doesn't have the right to kill her child once it is born. If it is a child in the womb what's the difference?

Because we don't have the right to choose to commit other forms of murder. It's a double standard.
Was this addressed to me?This is exactly why I don't debate politics with people. You can't have your own opinion without negative backlash, sarcasm, and slick remarks.
Who is saying that?Yeah and since it's the only double standard, let's get rid of it. I think it's funny, everyone will fight about giving the baby a chance to live but once it's out no one cares anymore. "Oh you're born now, good luck". It's immoral to have an abortion, you're damned to Hell for killing the baby, but if the kid is 30 years old asking for a dollar to grab some food, tough luck, get a job bum.
I wasn't arguing either way, and I'm pretty sure you have no idea about my beliefs. I was explaining the reasoning behind other's thoughts. This is exactly why I don't debate politics with people. You can't have your own opinion without negative backlash, sarcasm, and slick remarks. I am going to agree to disagree with you. You have the right to your opinion and I have the right to mine. Isn't it nice to live in a free country?

When it comes to directly taking a human life, I'd say that's the one that goes to the top of the pile.Yeah and since it's the only double standard, let's get rid of it.
Would you say the bum should just kill himself? Or get a job? This isn't even close to being comparable to abortion.I think it's funny, everyone will fight about giving the baby a chance to live but once it's out no one cares anymore. If no one hires him because of his appearance and he starves to death, then how is that any better than aborting him at birth? When it comes to directly taking a human life, I'd say that's the one that goes to the top of the pile.

Caring does not necessarily mean entitlements. And in this country, bums know where to get free meals. When they ask for money, it is usually for drugs or alcohol. Even social workers will tell you this.you reflect the point i made earlier. the fundies etc, make abortion a one issue vote yet if their reasons (most of which are valid) for oposing abortion should be carried through the whole of the babies life.

It's not directly killing him. Abortion would be. Furthermore, he has a chance to clean himself up and get an entry-level job. Babies in the womb don't have that kind of freedom. If no one hires him because of his appearance and he starves to death, then how is that any better than aborting him at birth?
Direct murder is a shocker like that, what can I say.My point is, people wanna make a big deal about making sure the baby is born but once he's born most people care less. Sadly, I know from firsthand experience.

How many social workers do you know? How many communes have you stayed at with an open-door policy to those who need a meal?
Well some of us would like to make a big deal of both. It's not either/or.If no one hires him because of his appearance and he starves to death, then how is that any better than aborting him at birth?

Charming, thanks. Not necessarily. Just people in general who backup their arguements with the aforementioned things. But if the shoe fits, then yes.
