...yes, McCain is the first person I think of when I think of moral character and courage.

What ever happened to that wife he divorced because she was crippled, anyway?

Why does the Left always delve into matters none of their business, like McCain's divorce, or Palin's daughter's pregnancy, none of this is the Public's business, attack his Politics if you want to attack something.

Gee, I dunno.

Why did the Right delve into the Clinton thing? Or Obama's knowing some priest who made flippant comments?

It's *both* sides that do it.

Clinton messed with an Intern(messing around on the job), and Obama's Pastor is not family; divorces, and people's family members aren't any of our business.

Yay to partial birth abortions, class warfare and bad economic policies!

After 20 years, you should probably give up the hope that the Republicans are going to try to eliminate abortions.

And of course the Republican nominee shouts "four more years of war!" while we're in a pretty bad economic crisis that he doesn't even acknowledge.

I like politicians as much as the next person (which isnt a lot of love), but, you have to remember that these people arent superheros, or superhumans. And they arent the only one putting stuff in place and making all the decisions, there are a lot of people behind the scenes.

Well partial birth abortion is a different story... I think it's very well possible that could be banned since many people on both sides of the fence pretty much think it's murder. Abortion in general, however, is here to stay. I sincerely doubt Roe vs. Wade will ever be overturned. What I thought was funny is that I heard an Obama ad by Planned Parenthood (and Obama said he supported it at the end) on the radio that said "IF JOHN MCCAIN BECAME PRESIDENT, HE WOULD MAKE ABORTIONS ILLEGAL."

ROFL. Yeah right. Good luck with that buddy

I always look at abortions this way.. Sure it's an act of murder, but somehow it's also an act of mercy if you look at the bigger picture..

I mean babies go instantly to heaven whereas if you grow up and mess up your life you could end up for eternity in hell.. Sounds like horrible reasoning, but that's kind of the way I look at it. I wouldn't allow abortion just because life is sacret, but if it does happen it could have been for the better for the actual child (embryo) involved.

bah the concept of hell is haunting me whereever I go..

Babies go straight to heaven? Can you show me chapter and verse? The age of accountability doctrine doesn't seem biblical to me.

well I assume they do? They cannot do anything right or wrong and they cannot choose if they want God or not.. Tell me if otherwise
Well there's the concept of original sin:
Romans 3 (NIV) said:
23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5 said:
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—
I can't find any biblical support for children going to heaven up until a certain age or stage and the doctrine is troubling to me as - like you pointed out - if it was true, killing them all would seem the merciful thing to do.

Roe VS Wade could definitely be overturned, there are court cases going on currently that are on that very subject, and they will litigate for as long as it takes to get it back up to the supreme court.

one thing to remember was that abortion was made legal through illegal means in our country, no matter your view of the subject anyone who knows how the government works knows that the judicial should not be able to legislate from the bench however they have gotten away with it a number of times.

as for a president making abortion illegal, perhaps not entirely, but he can sure put a strangle hold on it. for starters they can define when a child is actually considered a person ... this of course has already been done but it needs to be reestablished for this particular issue before it would change anything. As far as the law is concerned however once a woman is pregnant that child is a person ... the fact that abortion is legal is some what of a paradox but again i refer you to the fact that it wasn't law passed through the legitimate routes.

however consider this ... a person who harms or kills a pregnant woman in such a way that the baby inside of her is lost is charged with 2 murders, not one. so legal precedent is already in place to consider the unborn child a person and to consider what they do murder. the abortion crowd have created somewhat of a gray area bubble around it though(where none should rightfully exist); much in the same way the euthanasia crowd have for the "mercy killing" of older folks, or people they deem to be beyond medical help.

BTW Obama supports in infanticide ... he turned down bills to make illegal the act of putting to death babies that were born even though abortions were attempted. That is, women who have an abortion, but it somehow fails, so once the baby is born and out of the mothers belly, they put them to death to make up for the botched procedure. His excuse was that the bills did not allow provisions that would make sure they did not affect current abortion rulings and the thing was that after he rejected it on that basis the first times they brought back one that did protect the other current status they just wanted to make sure that people wouldn't kill babies that were already born ... he voted against it, not cool

I don't see how the governmant can tell someone what they can and cannot do with THEIR body. They can regulate abortions, that's fine, and should be in place. BUT telling a woman who has been raped, a child who is a victim of incest, a mother who would die if she carries the baby to term, that they cannot make a decision about THEIR body is wrong to me.

I am not a supporter of abortions as a form of birth control and I don't support people who behave irresponsibly and use abortions to deal with that. I wouldn't even get an abortion myself, BUT I just CANNOT support the government having rights over MY body.

Think about this. Look at the people you see walking down the street. You would not be immediately able to tell if any of them had been conceived of rape or incest.

A young black girl is raped by a white man. She is pregnant. Does she have the abortion, yes or no? If yes, then you killed Ethel Waters.

Now, when the life of the mother is in danger, then I can see the exception - where it's either lose one or lose them both, you save the life you can.
