Can someone please help me speak with God? I've been reading the bible everyday, and praying everyday earnestly seeking a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm giving my all, literally everything. All my chips are at the center of the table and I want God to heal me. I want to know who he is. Sure I know what he did but I want to confidently say that I know him personally! Why can't I say that? I keep asking God what I'm doing wrong and i'm not understanding? At least reveal it to me so that I can understand and change that area of my life. Everyone has these amazing testimonies of how God came into their life and radically changed it. I want something that I can rely on like that. Some type of foundation for which why I believe what I believe. I'm really frustrated and I don't know what else to do except ask you guys. Is there something I can be doing differently?

I'm sorry no one responded to you when you needed help perhaps I may be able to help. It's clear you want to know God and to have a personal relationship with him and that is key. My best advice is to continue to seek after him

Acts 17:27
that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.

Psalms 14:2
The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.

Hosea 10:12
Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.

If you seek him you will find him, if you seek him with all your heart with the desire to know him to have an actual relationship with him to develop a deep and personal love with him then I can promise you not only will you find what you are seeking but you will also receive much more.

Even today God searches the world searches the hearts of man seeking a heart that truly desires him that truly loves and adores him that will give up everything just to know him more. The heart like this that he finds will be shown wonders and secrets they have never known they will know God more than the average Christian and the secrets of his kingdom and of his heart will be made known to them

I don't have time at the moment to write a long answer, but I think that Dr. Kleinig may have what you are looking for. His lectures on christian spirituality have been very helpful to me personally. You can watch them here.

Sometimes, we feel like nothing is happening and we aren't making progress. If it's that you feel nothing is happening or you have doubts or you simply haven't had any experience, ignore those things. God sees the whole situation. He is preparing for the encounter. Believe that God's word is more true than our experiences. He will give you an encounter. He will give you more than you ask for, which is maybe why you have to wait.
Hold on to faith inspite of how you feel.
I do not know how you are praying. I suggest you pray and speak to God as if he was your father (he is literally your father). Obviously, maintain reverence and respect but don't pray in a way that makes you feel that God is distant. When Jesus taught us to pray, he said to start it off addressing God as father.
I do suggest really focusing on verses that talk about how God relates to you/the relationship a God has with believers
Here's a list on our identity in Christ and how God sees us: http://media.wix.com/ugd/3138bc_4fd659e597610d19b21c98025ec426dc.pdf
Its a pdf.
Also, read about Jesus in the gospel. I love to notice details. Luke has a lot of details (it seems Peter helped him write it). Sometimes, you have to pursue God like you would pursue someone else. When you pursue someone, you try to find out what they love, like, hate, dislike. You find what warms their heart and makes them happy. You listen/notice when they express their feeling or let them show (if you really take a close look at Hosea, you can see God's heart for Israel and how he feels towards them. Imagine Hosea sitting down grieving over Gomer's infidelity and prostitution, then God comes in the room tells him to start writing and Hosea realizes the pain he feels and the pain God feels is similar. A lot of times, we de-emotionalize God, thinking that emotions are a human thing. I think God's purpose for the book of Hosea was to show that God wasn't heartlessly judging them or that he was judging them without difficulty on his part.) You pay attention to idiosyncrasies (If you can see it that way, you notice that sometimes God speaks in 3rd person, or maybe it points to God being 3 persons in one). You notice adorable things they do (I love how Jesus endearingly called James and John "sons of thunder"). You notice their humor (Paul said it but Gal 5:12 is funny).
If you're seeking the face of God and not just experiences, then it will come in a better form and quicker than if you were seeking a gift and not the Giver. When I first sought God, all I wanted was reassurance my dreams/aspirations were coming true and that he approved. Then, I began to find comfort in certain verses. My intention wasn't even to search for God as first. It was a full school year before I experienced God. It's different for people because our hearts and needs are different. When I did encounter God is when I got trully saved. If I hadn't gotten saved at that time, I don't know what exactly would happen. If God hadn't gotten me saved by a certain time I think I would've killed myself. I still attempted afterwards, but because of God's grace, God stopped me.
Also, don't ignore your dreams. Sometimes God speaks to us in our sleep. Even the weirdest dreams can be from God. For example, Pharoh's dream must have been really weird to experience. Could you imagine a malnourished cow eat a fat cow?

I had this problem for many years.
Lets turn it around.
How would a friend treat you if you for the last 20 years never invited him along, never talked about him with others and never acknowledged your friend in public? that friend after only a day or two would not go shopping with you.

There are many stories in the bible telling us when God does not answer people.
It would be good to read those.
Job is a good example. Read through book of Job, God did not answer him for a long time and he was a good man.

it is always a test.

Read your Bible and FOLLOW the Bible. John the Baptist told people what they must do
read about john the baptist etc

but this is what broke my dry spell.
just reading the Bible does no good you just forget what you read
you need to UNDERSTAND the Bible and only God can help you understand it
get a Bible program like e-sword. install it on computer
when you click on kjv+ you see little numbers
hover mouse over these numbers and it tells you what the words really mean
pick a verse, hover over each word, pray and ask God to show you what this verse means and then ask him to put this wverse into your heart and change you to be more like Jesus. you can do just a few verses a day
but your life will change
because God now sees that you are serious.

If you're having trouble hearing God and it's affecting your faith, maybe it's a good time to get out and meet up with other Christians. YOUR life may not feel like much exciting is happening right now, but you may know people who have testimonies and are experiencing miracles. Something that's helped me stay strong in my faith in a miracle my mom went through rather than one I went through myself.

I think for many of us, the problem with having a relationship with God is that we can't help but think we know best how that relationship is supposed to look. We can't help but to want things to proceed in the way that we think it should and we often get frustrated when our ideals aren't met.

If you will permit me to go on a tangent a bit...

I like the saying: Luck is nothing more than preparation meeting opportunity.
When you talk to very successful people in any area of life they will often say things like the harder they worked, the luckier they got or things to that effect.

In my opinion, a relationship with God is similar. The more you open yourself up to him, the more you try to live according to how you think he wants you to live, the more he will reveal himself to you.

I think the key is that we have to let go of our egos and our innate desire for control. There is a part of us that always thinks we know best to include how our relationship with God ought to go. I cringe whenever I hear a Christian praying for a sign, as if God is some genie who will make a star in the sky glow brighter just because we asked for it. In my opinion, our relationship with God is not going to work like that. Instead, it will just happen naturally and over time we will learn how to listen and to see our relationship with God. It takes patience and faith and trust.

My thoughts on faith is that there can never really be smoking gun type proof. I mean, if there was then it's not "faith" is it? The proof is found in our hearts and I feel that a relationship with God is the same way.

Lastly, I will say I am NOT a bible scholar or pastor or anything of the sort. Just a Christian struggling through life offering his opinions on this subject. I hope it is more right than wrong :)
