Why does it have to be that way though?
Nobody said it
has to be that way. They said it
is that way.
Why do great stories like the one I have posted go under the radar while people argue about things that they have already made up their mind about anyways?
Firstly, the dichotomy your question implies is false. There can be space for both, and there is.
Your story didn´t go under the radar - there was a movie about it, the trailer is on youtube, you have posted it, and I and many others have seen it.
Secondly, the "who already have made up their minds" introduces a new quality that hasn´t been part of your question before. There´s a great deal of assumption in this premise, btw.
Personally, I don´t think there is much point in arguing about things you have made up your mind about - unless you feel the issue is important and you are talking with people of whom you think they have not made up their minds already so that there is a chance to convince them.
Why not do something more constructive?
I don´t think discussion is necessarily not constructive, and I don´t think posting videos is necessarily constructive.
I don´t seem to understand what your issue is with controversial discussion. If you don´t like it, don´t go to discussion boards. There are plenty of places where controversial discussion is not to be expected.
I, for example, don´t enjoy chat boards nor do I get their point. I don´t frequent them - case closed, as far as I am concerned.
Did you notice, btw., that your endeavour here is controversial in nature itself? You go to a place where people enjoy discussing and you try to drive the point home that there´s something wrong with it. Don´t get me wrong - I am not criticizing you for that. I am just trying to show you how easy it is to be the origin of controversial discussion: It just needs confusion as to why others think the way they think, feel the way they do, act the way they act, and the will to understand it.
Controversial discussion is usually driven by constructive motives, in my observation.
