In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why I am 7th Day Adventist, and not of any other faith...

It has to do with this text:

Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Psalms 77:13

Courtyard
Altar of Burnt Offering/Sacrifice - "Daily" dying, & walking with Lamb/Jesus

Most Holy Place
Ark Of the Covenant - Law of God [Ten Commandments]/Testimony, Truth/Mercy Seat, Just and Justifier / Love written upon our Hearts to Obey Him always in His Mercy, He hath redeemed us unto Himself, that we might be At-One-Ment with Him.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place of the True Sacrifice, it is a counterfeit.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place of True regeneration and True Baptism by water/fire, it is a counterfeit.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place of The True Word of God/Bible, it is a counterfeit.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place of True Prayer/Communion with God, it is a counterfeit.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place of True Witnessing, of the powerful salvation of Jesus Christ in your own Life, by being the daily example of God's love, it is a counterfeit.

If anything attempts to replace/be in the place the True Law of God, the True Ten Commandments, and/or the True Mercy of God with any other thing, it is a counterfeit.

The 6 degrees of the Separation from God that sin causes.

Every person must accept these into their own lives, and no one else can do it for you. Begin by applying that blood of Jesus to the doorposts of your own heart, and recognize that sin, is causing you to be separated from God, do not let it separate you eternally, for there is a way made, and it is found in the Sanctuary, which is the plan of salvation and redemption in type/picture, that we may understand what Jesus has done for us, and what we are to do in Him. Every single person may come to God through Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit today. There is no other way. Christ Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life, and His Way is in the Sanctuary. Not through any other, or any other way, not a 'priest of earth', not a 'saint', not a man, or woman, nor any angel or other being in all creation, nor any other acts or thoughts.

Right....You'll never make it to heaven by law. However, that doesn't mean that as you rest in God's redemption that you will not grow in grace.

Read the following:

This is the issue.

You are placing your security for eternity on what you say you believe.

Are you totally and completely settled that you are secure in heaven based on what you say you believe.

Not on the outside with all the discussions and points "made".

What counts is your insides.

Your inner most being.

In there where you actually live.

Are you sure there, where it really counts.

Being wrong on the most important issue of life has devastating results.

Yes, one sacrifice, no doubt about it, since Christ Jesus fulfills the type, by Him being the antitype, the reality to their shadow.

Did you know that Hebrews 10:19 doesn't say Most Holy Place? It says,

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, Hebrews 10:19

That "sanctuary" is the True Heavenly one:

A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. Hebrews 8:2

No, before you were born again there was no struggle. What your nature wanted was in complete agreement with your mind and heart.

After conversion your mind/heart became at odds with your nature. However, this doesn't mean you are above sin. Keep in mind that your nature is a deceiver. In fact sin is a deceiver. The Pharisees thought they were good outwardly. Why? Their nature had deceived them.....

So Christians are imperfect, but growing. So ultimately Christ is our righteous. That is what saves.

Yes....What is your point?

But because of Christ we can come before God in the Most Holy place. Remember Christ is the veil....In Christ we stand perfect. Would you like to see these quotes?

Eph 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus....(NIV)

Col 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

The context is not after the resurrection, but something that happened 2000 years ago. We have a new, sinless humanity in Christ Jesus. We stand before God in Him in the Holies of holies.....It's good news, brother. And I learned it from a SDA named Jack Sequeira. Praise God for him!!!! If God did not send him my way I would have become an atheist.

I have not attended an SDA church since 1997. I came in in 1988, 100 yrs after the 1888 GC. Too bad I didn't know church history.

So I became legalistic, like a lot of SDA. Until I learned church history from Robert Wieland. And Morris Vendon (God rest his soul) turned my eyes from my self-righteousness to Christ.

However, it was Jack Sequeira that turned me onto the love of God and the gospel. So believe me, I'm very well acquainted with Adventism, but like I said many SDA are in bondage and under law. They too need the gospel. As of now I claim no church. However, I thank God for these man:

You have a misunderstanding of the SDA position. This is not about the "works of the law" to be justified, never was/is. It is foisted upon us from outside. Please consider the presentation, and tell me where it errs thank you.

...

personally, if you require a temple to be built there is only a few christian denominations that do build temples.
i think the SDA do overrate themselves as being the church of jesus christ. being LDS i believe in a universal apostacy, and a total overriding Restoration of the gospel and priesthood in the LDS church. if the Lord has given [E]llen White many marvelous gifts of prophecy, it is only because of her faith ...
Hi,

We are not looking for any mere physical building of a temple on earth, but Christ Jesus already has the True Temple in Heaven, and His body on earth also.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2 Corinthians 6:16

etc.

Did you consider the presentation?

Did you know that LDS theology leads away from the Ten Commandments of God? That it gives the exact reasoning of Rome for their change of it?

"God’s Laws Remain Constant

“Although the world has changed,
the laws of God remain constant. They have not changed; they will not change. The Ten Commandments are just that—commandments. They are not suggestions. They are every bit as requisite today as they were when God gave them to the children of Israel. If we but listen, we hear the echo of God’s voice, speaking to us here and now. …

“Our code of conduct is definitive; it is not negotiable. It is found not only in the Ten Commandments but also in the Sermon on the Mount, given to us by the Savior when He walked upon the earth. It is found throughout His teachings. It is found in the words of modern revelation.

“Our Father in Heaven is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The prophet Mormon tells us that God is ‘unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity’ [Moroni 8:18]. In this world where nearly everything seems to be changing, His constancy is something on which we can rely, an anchor to which we can hold fast and be safe, lest we be swept away into uncharted waters.”" [Words of the Prophet -President Thomas S. Monson; LDS.org] - http://www.lds.org/new-era/2011/11/g...n+commandments

According to the official stance taken by the LDS church, from the official LDS.org website:

"The Ten Commandments are eternal gospel principles that are necessary for our exaltation. The Lord revealed them to Moses in ancient times (see Exodus 20:1–17), and they are also referenced in whole or in part in other books of scripture (see Matthew 19:18–19; Romans 13:9; Mosiah 12:33–36; 13:13–24; D&C 42:18–29; 59:5–13; 63:61–62). The Ten Commandments are a vital part of the gospel. Obedience to these commandments paves the way for obedience to other gospel principles. " [LDS.org, Ten Commandments] - http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.js...004d82620aRCRD

Notice, the offical LDS.org site, cites Exodus 20:1-17, and let us see what it says in Exodus 20:8-11 [from LDS.org]:

" 8 Remember the {a} sabbath day, to keep it {b} holy.

9 {a} Six days shalt thou {b} labour, and do all thy work:

10 But
the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy {a} stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in {a} six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested
the seventh day: wherefore the Lord {b} blessed the sabbath day, and {c} hallowed it." [4th Commandment; LDS.org] - Exodus 20Â[bless and do not curse]

Ex 20:8 [Notation] - “the {a} sabbath day” - “HEB stopping, cessation, rest (from labor). See Ex. 31:17. TG Sabbath.” Ex. 31:17 given as “17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”

Ex. 20:9 [Notation] - “{a} Six days” - “Ex. 35:2.” - Ex. 35:2 given as “2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.”

Ex. 20:11 [Notation] - “For in {a} six days” - “Ex. 31:17; Moses 2:31 (24–31).” Ex. 31:17 given as “17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”; [LDS Book of Mormon] Moses 2:24-31.

Notice which Day that LDS.org officially cites from Scripture Exodus 20:8-11.

The 7th Day, brother.... unchangeable, constant, as the Character of God, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever... I change not...

"The Lord personally gave counsel to his children regarding the importance and sacredness of the Sabbath day.

He said, “Remember
the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

“Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

“But
the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested
the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” (Ex. 20:8–11.)

The Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it, and he has asked us to remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. It is a day for spiritual thought and growth; a day to meet with the saints and to partake of the sacrament; a special hallowed day to read the words of God as recorded in his sacred scriptures.

Fathers who disrespect that which God hallowed and fail to keep the Sabbath day holy will generally pass this sin on to their posterity.
It is a sin to unhallow that which God hath hallowed. Keeping the Sabbath day holy has a hallowing effect on the soul of man, and love for God and his commandments is increased." [The Ten Commandments; Elder Bernard P. Brockbank; Assistant to the Council of the Twelve] - The Ten Commandments - Ensign Dec. 1971 - ensign

"B.

The Sabbath day was changed in the meridian dispensation.

“The Church accepts Sunday as the Christian Sabbath and proclaims the sanctity of the day. We admit without argument that under the Mosaic law the seventh day of the week, Saturday, was designated and observed as the holy day, and that the change from Saturday to Sunday was a feature of the apostolic administration following the personal ministry of Jesus Christ. Greater than the question of this day or that in the week is the actuality of the weekly Sabbath, to be observed as a day of special and particular devotion to the service of the Lord” (James E. Talmage, The Articles of Faith, 449)."- http://www.lds.org/manual/doctrines-...=kor&clang=eng

Notice that what they say in one place is perpetual, unalterable, in another is somehow 'changed' [not by Jesus they say], but they cannot place exactly where, for no such example or commandment in scripture exists for it to be so changed.

The argumentation of an 'apostolic' change after Jesus, is Roman doctrine...

If I asked the elder, or ward bishop, or stake president, or one or all of the quorum of seventy, or yet higher still in the congregation of LDS, including the LDS president [prophet], would any of them tell me that they could not be sure which day is the "first [day] of the week" is?

"...the first day of the week, Sunday..." - Sabbath http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.js...004d82620aRCRD

Which day does the LDS congregation celebrate "Easter"? Which day does the LDS congregation officially recognize as the day of the resurrection?

"The Savior was ... resurrected. The New Testament contains several accounts testifying that He rose from the tomb (see Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-14; Luke 24:1-48; John 20:1-29; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; 2 Peter 1:16-17)." - Resurrection

Therefore, the LDS.org clearly demonstrates which day is "the seventh day" [aka "Saturday"] and which day is the "first [day] of the week" [aka "Sunday"]...

It can be traced from Now till Jesus and back to creation...

Elder Bruce R. McConkie (1915–85) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles stated that Sabbath observance is an eternal principle, and he noted five occurrences in the scriptures when observance of the Sabbath day was required by the Lord:

"The Sabbath was a holy day before the giving of the law, even from the earliest times (cf. the account of the creation-- Gen. 2:2-3; the sacredness of the number 7; the narrative of the manna --Ex. 16:23-30; and the narrative of the man gathering sticks--Num. 15:32-36; cf. v. 34); ... for the Sabbath is an eternal principle, and would have existed from the days of Adam, whenever the gospel was on the earth among men." - http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bd/sab...g=eng&letter=s
