Why Hath The Lord Done Thus?

I've been listening to Don Fortner for a while now through Sermon Audio and I can't tell you what a blessing his sermons and teachings have been to me. Sunday I sorted his messages on the website to start back at the earliest sermons he had online and found this gem, Why Hath the Lord Done Thus? The sermon was delivered to the Lords people after the tragic loss of a young child at a daycare. In this sermon Fortner proclaims clearly that God is in control of all things. He instructs God's people to have faith. To trust in Christ. To know that everything is for the good of His people, that evil and tragedy are not in vain. Fortner's message encourages us to trust and believe in the risen Lord.

This thread deserves a bump, and I too recommend people listen to Don Fortner. This man of God preaches the Gospel of Christ plainly without compromise. Whatever disagreements I may have, are not worth uttering.

I do appreciate JM turning me on to Fortner and other speakers at FGR. I had never heard of the guy till recently. Down here in Texas you can find a Baptist church on every corner of every street but rarely would you here a man preach about a Sovereign God.

I've sat under Pastor Don Fortner's preaching, he's friends with my Pastor. He preaches the Gospel, and does a great job explaining what the Gospel is not.

P.S. I thought I should explain my grin, I've followed Rons posts through the years and have learned a great deal about theology from him, I just thought it was amusing that his actual name wasn't used, he's well known to those who come here regularly.

God never ceases to astound me. I never need to see God working in the world and through His word to know He is working. Last Wednesday I shared this sermon with a young believer and in a matter of days he lost two family members, one the age of 13, in a car accident. I thought it was time to share it here on CF again.
