Why God breaks his commandments ? !

One of the commandments of God to Moses and Jews was the following :

Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long on the land which the LORD your God gives you.
You shall not kill.
You shall not commit adultery.
Exodus 20:12-15

putting in our consideration God prevented us from killing generally so wither jewish or non jewish so it's an order directed to all believers not to kill anyone.


then in Exodus 32:27
He said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Every man of you put his sword upon his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate in the camp, and kill every man his brother, and every man his friend, and every man his neighbor.'"


then in Samuel 1 15:3
Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’”


why God breaks his commandments ?

The killing that is described in the commandments is murder, killing in war is acceptable.

God instructed the Israelites to kill those people because of idolatry and child sacrifice.

God knows all things and knew that the people around the Israelites would lead them away from him. He is a jealous God and he loves his people. They had made a covenant with him to worship only him.

Unfortunately thats exactly what happened, the people around them did take them away from God on several occasions and they did fall into idolatry.

God does not break His commandments. He owns everything in all of creation. Including you and I. Owns it. He can do with anyone as He pleases to include putting to death.

The commands are there to prevent people from killing one another unjustly. Notice how there is no command against righteous execution in terms of capital punishment? God would be violating His own commandments if He murdered people without cause, but without question He does not do that.

The Command is you shall not murder, not kill.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

13 “You shall not murder. 14 “You shall not commit adultery.

Murder is the unsanctioned (by God) taking of life. The command you shall not murder tells us we are not to take the life of another unless directed by God.

But He never breaks them. He is entirely consistent. He never bends them, or changes them in any way shape or form. That is why Jesus Christ had to die. Because God does not change the rules to suit Himself when the whim hits.

well let us say it's "don't murder"

A common practise in the OT was to dedicate children and animals to demonic and false gods. Demonic powers were called upon and incanted into possessions to ensure the continued authority and empowerment of demonic authority, so children were demon possessed from soon after birth.

In those days there was no spiritual power to cast out demons and evil spirits. The only way to put an end to such wicked ways to was to destroy everything that was possessed or under demonic power.

Of course nowadays Christ has given us spiritual power to cast out demons and break down spiritual strongholds through prayer. (not that many Christians are aware of this or even exercise such authority) Many Christians are still quick to exercise carnal strength to overcome evil (as they did in the OT) and as many other faiths still do to this day.... Sadly by doing this they are in fact overcome by evil rather than overcoming evil...

Is not God the creator of life? Then God is also the creator of death. God has dominion over the creation including when and how someone dies. By your logic God is a murderer if he allows an innocent baby to suffer and die since he has the power to prevent suffering and death. The created is not to instruct the creator on how to run his creation (Job 38).

(God destroyed the wicked to protect the Israelites in the Old Testament- the wicked were warned and wouldn't listen-thus, they did this to themselves. These people that were killed were very evil as they sacrificed their infants on the alter, were involved with beastility, etc. The children were killed because they always grew up to do evil-this was in the old testament times which is very different from today as God dealt with mankind differently then. Christ didn't come yet).

Does the creature tell the Creator how to run his universe?

Dear Usama.Egyptian. God`s Commandments stand for ever, God never breaks them. The Old Testament is a History of the Israelites and their Prophets. God was establishing His eternal Kingdom, and the Israelites were surrounded by Heathen-Tribes with their cruel gods. There was always fighting between them, and killing was a most natural reaction. Love and Forgiveness only came to exist when Jesus came, and Jesus showed us God as He really is: our loving and forgiving Heavenly Father. Jesus told us in Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40, " the first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." God wants our love freely given and no conditions asked. God is Love, and God wants us to become His loving children/sons and daughters. Do you believe in Demons? Do Demons have real power?
If you believe in Demons that have real power, maybe the Demons will answer your wishes if you sacrifice a baby to them.
How would you know if it works or not?

This is not something I am recommending. Just a think question.

Of course this option is only a decision for those that believe in Demons.

Again "murder" is about the unsanctioned taking of life. If God sanctions the taking of life then it is not murder. Age/guilt has nothing to do with a sanctioned death.

The life we live is not our own it belongs to God. He can do with it has He will. If He gives it to us the blessed be the name of God if He takes it from us then blessed be the name of God.

The commandments were not made for God, they were made for man. God has no mother and father to honor as the fifth commandment requires, nor does He rest on weekends as the fourth commandment requires. Therefore the commandments do not apply to God. God lives by a standard that is far superior to mere commandments, and Christians are now called to live by that higher standard.

"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ...having abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations." (Eph 2:13-15).

what kind of God is this ? a God will urge us to kill born babies , women and even animals ? !!!
putting in your consideration what you have mentioned is against what Jesus said cause Jesus came to fulfill Moses law not to destroy it.
if you remember the story of Moses, u will find that one of the reasons God sent Moses to people of Israel is that the pharo was killing their born babies and make them as slavery, that's why God sent his prophet to save them from such injustice. this is the mercy of God.

god is not taking lives the way you tried to twist the meaning of the verse .. he is giving us orders telling us don't murder then after sometime he is telling us to kill innocent people "babies and women" which is supposed to be an obvious murder that any sensible wise man would say so. it's a matter of Human nature.

God pronounced a death sentence upon all humanity. As Tyler Durden says, on a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone is zero. He technically could make us all live forever, even in our sins, because that is his power. Instead, however, he allows us to die. Therefore, if I think like you, God has technically killed every one of us because he has declared that the wages of sin is death.

Of those who perished in the past, you also forget when God destroyed Sodom. Surely there was a baby or two in there? Or how about the great flood of Noah? The entire world was destroyed except for Noah and his immediate family. Surely there were children among those who drowned? I don't understand why you cite these examples where He commanded the Jews to inflict His judgments and not His more famous examples that had a higher death count.

God is, well, God. He alone decides who lives, and who shall die. He knows all that has happened and all that will happen. Every hair on your head is in the possession of God, until such time as He allows you to fall into some abyss. Yes, He even allows bad things to happen, and good things also. What piece of pottery can say to his maker, why has thou made me thus? Especially pottery such as ourselves, who belong to a degenerate race given over to evil. His judgments are absolutely righteous in these examples. The chosen people were the Jews. The enemies of the Jews had done great evil. So, what do you do? Does God kill their parents but leave the children? What do the children do years later? What would have happened if the Jews did not do as they had been commanded?

The feud with Amalek, as one example, is an ancient one. God had ordained it from long before that they would be destroyed.

They were ancient enemies of God who had never repented of their ways. Those who do repent are always spared, even if they had been judged for similar death by God prior. Nineveh is one example, or maybe the Gibonites from Joshua 9. Had the Amalek's any hope of being different in the future, and not a cause of death and destruction, then they would have been spared. They were judged because they were enemies to God and would always remain so. Their destruction, right down to the men, women, and even the cattle they owned, was the judgment of God against a people whose cup of sin had been filled and was now ready for removal. In the same way you also stand in danger of death at any given time. He holds your life in His hand, and He alone knows how many days He has ordained for you. For those children who died, what about all those others who die from natural causes at child birth? Or what about the child of David who perished because of David's sin? Why did he deserve to die for David? It is because it is God's right and power to do so, even as a punishment against the parents, or as a warning to others of what terrible judgments will come for those who offend God and do evil; secondly, because He knows all the possibilities before they happen; third, because to die is often to gain. There will be no hellfire for those who could not have sinned.

God's ways are pure and just. It is not for us to decide who shall life or die, but God. Therefore if decreed by God, it is good. In Christ, us Christians are commanded to love our neighbor as well as our enemy though...so killing others is out of the question. That said, someone breaks into my home I think I would kill them...this is because of my flesh and is a sin.

Samuel hacked to death the king of the Amaleks like it was nothing.
Daniel slew Goliath and many others who were enemies of God.
There is nothing wrong with killing for self defense, or in war against an enemy who threatens your people. War is inevitable. In fact, even greater war is coming within our lifetimes.
