I tend to see a lot of people who wear eyelashes for the dramatic look. I never really why I'd use fake eyelashes rather than my own. It gives the same dramatic look but more realistic basically since they are my real lashes. Yet it's like so many who say they know a lot about make up will plaster on fake ones and then use mascara. And when people use mascara it always bugs me when they seem to not know how to put it on correctly. They either apply too little or make it all clumpy. I had one friend tell me mascara colors the lashes and only subtly brings them out and insisted I had fake eyelashes on when I've only worn lashes 2 or 3 times when I was 17. I don't get why 1. people don't put it on correctly and then 2. why people always act like fake eyelashes are the main route for getting longer lashes?

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Why fake lashes instead of mascara? I don't get it?

Some people don't have much in the way of eyelashes - too thin, too short or simply not there (chemo, alopecia, age, genetics). Other people have eye conditions that preclude anything that may get in the eye. For them, mascara just doesn't work well. Then, too, not everyone wants a natural look - they prefer high drama.
I'm a big fan of mascara done correctly. I was blessed with pale lashes, so it truly makes a difference on my face.

You obviously don't know how to apply mascara because mascara can give the same look if you apply many coats on. Using mascara can give the same look...

I have thin eyelashes and are on the short side of things.... Not extremely but like you I've heard people say that mascara only subtly enhances the eyelashes giving them color etc.... But that's not true you can use mascara so it gives a natural look.
Or you can get the dramatic look.
Putting on one coat doesn't give a dramatic look. There are tutorials on YouTube on how to get "spidery" lashes with mascara. You can put the coats on faster by using a fan.
But anyhow I just prefer using my own eyelashes because people assume mascara does t give the same effect and assume of they're my real lashes than most of it is mine when they're really extensions and my lashes aren't nearly that thick or long.
