  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here is the major hole i found in evolution; its a hole that even top scientists and archeologists who lectured me (some years back) did not know the answer to.

Within archeology, we have the standard ''three-age system'' periodization:

Stone Age
Bronze Age
Iron Age

The so called Stone Age lasted 2. 6 mya - 12, 000 B. P, and it is divided into the Paleolithic, Mesolithic & Neolithic periods. The two latter periods slot into a very narrow recent timeframe compared to the Paleolithic. The Mesolithic began around 20,000 - 15, 000 years ago, while the Neolithic around 12, 000 years ago (though recent findings in Syria have pushed this date back slightly).

During the Paleolithic, there is virtually zero evidence of any significant technological development. All we have is some very crude, primitive stone, bone or wood heads from the age of the Homo Habilus (2. 3 mya) and later from other Hominids. Virtually nothing improved for millions of years, there were only slight changes in the production of the primitive stone or bone weapons and the 'microlith' tool around 70, 000 years ago. You then had some very minor examples of primitive art forms being created around 30,000 B. P (i.e the Venus figures). Earlier alleged Venus figures such as the Venus of Tan-Tan (300, 000 B. P) have been discredited as naturally made (not man made) geofacts. Crude bows and arrows, and nets etc (some minor inventions) were created around 25, 000 B.P. The earliest cave art or petroglyphs also date from the period, although a recent paper in 2008 have challenged this putting the figure down to only around 15, 000 years ago.

The earliest domestication of animals, plants, agricultural, religious paintings, first signs of sedentism, and proper buildings etc only occured all around 15, 000 - 10, 000 years B. P (mostly during the Neolithic revolution). I have dates from compiled science andarcheology papers, hundreds of them, and nothing falls out of place from this figure.

So what does this mean?

1. It means there is virtually no sign whatsoever of cultural evolution or technological progress for millions of years.

2. Man suddenly just just appeared to create agriculture, domesticate animals and create the first communities only around 15, 000 years ago.

Archeologists have long had the problem of explaining this transition and there is more than ten competing theories or hypotheses on this topic (you can look them up under the 'Neolithic Revolution').

My answer to the problems above are that modern man was created around 15, 000 years ago and was not of the same linage as the primitive Hominids or early Hunter Gatherer peoples. Modern man i believe was created as we read in Genesis, as educated, civilized and as a builder.

I believe this is a real solution to the problems face in explaining the transition or revolution of primitive man, to civilized agricultural based settlements.

Okay so let me see if I understand this correctly..
Your evidence against evolution is the sudden increase in advancement of humans.
But you also state that its not that we cant explain it we just have not narrowed down which of the 10 options it is, so its not something that cannot occur under evolution thus already no evidence against it.

And your response to this is "We have not proven which of the 10 options it is, there for god did it"

I'm sorry but are you not just adding 1speculation to 11 hypothesis and proclaiming the speculation must be the one?

Dont get me wrong its fasinating stuf that I have not heard about before, but your reasoning seems a non-sequitur. The conclusion does not follow from the premise.

Edit.

I mean this in the most respectful way but by your reasoning.. We have more then five theories about how the earths moon formed, so we are justified in saying stellar formation has been falsified and god made the earth all along?

Not to mention that "We dont know" does not automatically lead to "There for god, untill further notice" Or else lightning would have proven god a century ago.

We don't know why it happened like this = evolution did not happen = God did it

Anyone else think that that's a non-sequitur?
Why would it be?

Since 'God did it' was the default position long before evolution showed up, then when evolution is gone, 'God did it' should get its [rightful] place back.

But haven't we seen explostions of technolocical advancements a few times since then.

The enlightenment, the industrial revolution and also the computer age?

Being able to think is a very leveraged thing. It is only a small advantage until there is actually time to stop and think. It also leverages on communication and population.

Hardly a hole in evolutionary theory, except for those desperately looking for an excuse.

I suggest reading "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond.

The actual answer is that for a million years humans were hunter-gatherers. This lifestyle can be effective in supporting small tribes of 50-200 people, but no more. To get big advances in tool-making, social institutions, construction, and all the other things we associate with civilization, a population needs a critical mass of people in the thousands or tens of thousands. This allows people to specialize in the necessary technologies, which simply is not possible with small tribes. But one cannot achieve large populations through hunting and gathering. For this, agriculture is needed.

Once agriculture was developed in China, India, the middle east, north Africa, and the Americas, it became possible to have the food supply needed for larger populations. Only then could societies afford to devote resources (or have a need) to learning how to construct stone buildings, work metal, invent writing, and create social institutions.

And not inconsequentially, the genetic data flat contradict your hypothesis of a 15,000 year-old humanity.

How so?

By the way, what is that guy doing in your avatar? He looks like he is about to kill a spider by throwing a rock at it.

He's preaching. What is your avatar a gerbil playing tennis? It will be trillions of years before he can do that right?

Human technological advancement has never followed a straight line progressive track. Often times technological and cultural advancements follow in the volatile rise and falls of the many great empires of the past. There are always cycles of great technological enlightenment followed by times of the dark ages.

Right now we are fervently advancing in technology like no time in history. However that is largely built on energy generated by fossil fuels. Who knows what the future may hold? Perhaps we will run out of oil before we can develop viable alternative energy sources to fuel all of the technology we have become dependent on. In the future we may see a break down in our sophisticated society and return to something more akin to that of pre-industrial times where much of the population survives on subsistence farming.
