  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

why don't I have enough faith to walk on water?
Do you have a pressing need to do so?

Peter wasn't able to walk on water, either, until Jesus called him to do so. That is why Peter asked Jesus to invite him out, first.

"And Peter answered Him and said,
'Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.'

So He said, 'Come.' And when Peter had come down out of the boat,
he walked on the water to go to Jesus." Matthew 14:28-29 NKJV

why don't I have enough faith to walk on water?
From my understanding, this is how faith works...God speaks and then you do. Some words are for today, some words are for a later day. For example, the Word written in the Bible is alive and active, but it sprouts on many people at different times, but God must speak the Word to you for it to sprout. That's why we store His promises in us, so when the time comes we know the promise and we understand its meaning. Even Peter asked Jesus to make him walk in water (give the Word/command), then Peter walked, but when he saw the water, the Word Jesus had spoken was being replaced by fear (losing faith). We also see that Jesus only did what He saw the Father do. Seeing is like a "visual word" just like dreams and visions, sometimes we don't understand them or can't act upon them until the time comes and the seed is ready to sprout.

So, to answer your question, the reason you are not walking on water is because God haven't spoken that Word to you for you (given you the command) to do it, yet. Or maybe He did, but you keep losing faith (seeing the waters around you) But always keep in mind it is possible and you can pray for the day He "activates" it in you; give you faith for it to sprout and you become strong enough to "hold the vision".

Hope this helps!

Have you tried it? How do you know you don't have enough faith? Have you asked Jesus like Peter did? What did he say to? Maybe it's not faith to walk on the water you need but faith to ask God the question and believing he'll answer you yes or no either way.
