No worries, this type of confusion is common when one intrudes into the conversation of others....instead of starting their own conversation. Im sorry if you misunderstood the details of the conversation you entered.I said, 'what we give of ourselves'. I'm sorry if you think that to mean that our possessions or money defines us.
As i said, you desire that I adopt the clear interpretation of this passage....and not ask God for wisdom concerning it, or take any other interpretation other than the clear literal reading.
And again, I would encourage you to look pass money, and see whether or not there could be more to this passage.
The wise are confounded, and truth revealed to babes...
What happened to the literal reading of the verses? They would seem to prohibit the public announcements of what one gives. I find no fault in it, however, I think it wise to keep what you give to yourself lest the people here start analyzing your bank accounts to judge whether or not what you gave should be appreciated and respected....
I encourage you to dont stop now.....get into the million dollar gift business and see if you can turn down the offers to have your name on buildings. Then see what you will do when your name is placed on a building as a surprise to you in appreciation of your gift...(while those who say they are filled with love, only talk bad about you and call your gift worthless).... see how hard it is to make them feel bad for their gesture and have them take it down.... Hey, maybe I'll put your name on my next hospital extension as well, so that you, too, can feel the love of the saints. The RaymondG and Archivist wing.
Of course we will help save a few lives...but what is important to the church, is whether or not our names were displayed in the process.
The point of the article wasn't about Democrats and Republicans but the rich and not so rich. All the Dems that you point out are all considered rich.
More false accusations from you. Do you always do this?
Yes but now, every time I see your name, I will associate it with one who gives thousands to charity. This would not have been the case, had you not stated it. And I find no fault in it. I see no fault in desiring praise from man....it is just that praise from God is better...but that doesnt make it wrong to desire praise from man.I’m not making a public announcement. No one on here knows who I am.
No, I can feel God’s live without putting my name on things. I choose to remain anonymous as I believe scripture says we should.
Good questions. Why is so important, to the religious that people's names, not be on buildings? Why is it so important to you that your name be on buildings?
Whatever business you set up must have a name......why not let it be anything you desire? If anyone objects, I fear that the objection may be rooted in envy. For only envy can take one's mind off the good the business is doing and place it on the name of the business or the funds of the one who started it.....If I fund a large undertaking it will bear my name or a loved one's if appropriate. It will serve as a permanent reminder of the benefactor and familial commitment to the cause. Outsiders are welcome to disagree. But it isn't their money or vision. Its mine. I don't need their permission.

True enough. If God gives someone abundant blessings, the test may be whether they give away what was never theirs to begin with.God goes to them takes the gift away because they sat on it, saying Looking what little I have and how much they have.... instead of using it.....
No I do not....But there are always those who look for, and therefore find, something negative in my words. And this will always be the case.

Yes but will you show God's love when someone someone puts your name on something for appreciation, or will you be feel with the righteous indignation and prideful humility?

Possibly, but then if a person thinks another may be envious, what does that show about who they think themselves to be. It becomes a vicious circle when humbleness on either side is missing.I fear that the objection may be rooted in envy.
I don’t see anything in scripture saying that you could not name a building or scholarship after someone else. Naming a building after a former college president, for example, would not disclose that you donated the money. It would still be in secret. If I fund a large undertaking it will bear my name or a loved one's if appropriate. But donors can maintain supervision and still remain anonymous. Where I used to teach there was a scholarship fund Named for a former dean that came from an anonymous donor in the 1950s. It was overseen by a committee. I have always suspected that the donor was on the committee but I have no proof of that nor do I know who the donor was. Only the director of development knows that. There is little need for secrecy when the building and charitable work hail from the same source. I don’t believe in handing over large sums of money to organizations where my input is minimal. I like knowing my resources are used responsibly. As wise stewards should.

except I’m not the one lying here, you are the one making false claims. At no point did I ever say that you had to believe my understanding of the verse I quoted.
But you have not seen my name on here. No one on here knows who I am. I desire no praise from man.
Except as I have said multiple times, I don’t want my name on anything.
Try answering my question first. I’ve asked it several times. Why is it so important for you to have your name on a building.
Naysayers can be helpful at times. One would not go very far if they chose to only listen to and except the words of those who praise them alone.Opinions are a fact of life. Being ruled by them is a choice. My mind is on the work and who it serves. Not the naysayers.

This shows the little you know about the blessing of God. It is impossible to give away all that God gives you. If you have a desire to give, you will be able to give nonstop. You should give it a try. Drink from the well that never runs dry. Then try giving all the water away....and see if you can succeed.True enough. If God gives someone abundant blessings, the test may be whether they give away what was never theirs to begin with.
I find no fault in your thoughts of yourself, or your thoughts of me.....please continue as you were. Thanks for the conversation.Possibly, but then if a person thinks another may be envious, what does that show about who they think themselves to be.
