Why does this place seem dead?

It seems like only a few people ever post here. Why?

Are there really only a handful of teenagers on this website?

I think there have been a lot of teenagers who have "given up" on this forum because it seems dead.

I like posting here so I can see what other people my age think about things. Sucks that it's mostly empty.

and that's why I'm doing the blessings and reps for people who post in teens..

I think it makes people more likely to post. At least I hope so.

I check in every once and awhile.. But after 8 years on this site.. idk, it got kind of boring. People started leaving, and motivation to continue was lost, hahaha

LOL. Did they give up because it seems dead, or did it die because they gave up? But then, if they gave up because it seems dead, how did it die? And, if it died because they gave up, then why did they give up?

Or could it be that it is actually an infinite cycle, whereby: ... it died, which is why they gave up, which is why it died, which is why they gave up, which is why it died, which is why they gave up, which is why it died, which is why they gave up, which is why it died, which is why they gave up, which is... ? Oh my gosh! A paradox!

Paradoxes. That should be a nice theme to post about some day.

Graciesings, the lovely girl who responded above, made a very valiant effort to revive this section last year, but I think it's hard to keep it active. She started the tradition of giving out blessings so teens who posted in this section. Rather than doing that I just try to greet all new teen users and set them up with some blessings to they'll hopefully feel welcome and want to stay. The age restrictions are really limiting. Though adults do have their posts slip in here, the section rules dictate that you must be between the ages of 12 and 19 to participate. There are users like George95 who used to be active here, but then aged out of their teens. Also, once users are 18 most start posting in the 18+ Singles section which is way more active than here. I think you actually have to be 16 to join CF, even though they have a subsection for younger teens. There doesn't seem to be many active users on CF between the ages of 16 and 19.

Ha, well this is progress. I was typing this post when I saw that a new one had been added above. This thread had been dormant, but at least it's awake now.

Indeed, I have never quite understood that. How is it that (apparently) you have to be 16 to join, but this section allows for 12-19 years of age?
