Yes. Obama took time out of his schedule, intentionally found a fake interpreter just to mock people who might have otherwise voted for him, and then had him stand onstage behind him during his speech and those of other heads of state. Clearly an intentional scandal. I'm sure he thought he'd get away with it, but his shadow government didn't count on international news.

Yes, it was Obama, out of all the speakers, Obama was the one that planned this fake to speak to the deaf for them.

I am not an Obama supporter, but keep it real. It was stupid when Bush was blamed for everything, its just as stupid when Obama is blamed for everything.

When Obama screws up, blame him. When Obama administration screws up, blame the leader. That is why we have people lead.
But not everything in life is the fault of the US president, be it democrat or republican, or any other party that might get a person in the seat.

Why would this have been his fault, anyway??? Arranging for a sign language interpreter is the job of whoever it is organizing the event. This wasn't a US event, taking place in the US. It was a South Afrcian event, taking place in South Africa, therefore it was on them to find and provide a qualified interpreter.

However, I would have thought that someone on his staff would have been in charge of making sure everything was set so that when Obama spoke he would not look like an idiot. That would include checking the sound system and other equipment related to communicating his message. That would have included checking the validity of any interpreters. I have done it for sermons and special events. Surely this would have been done for the POTUS....no matter who it was.

No, he doesn't plan them. Though it could be said someone knew he would be ridiculed for the behaviors of this interpreter. And they were correct.
Those who were responsible for his being retained for this event are the one's responsible for the bad impression a self-admitted Schizophrenic wrought.

You can be as sarcastic as you want to be but the reality is people are paid to protect their bosses from this kind of thing. The location and circumstances don't change that. In fact, the host country probably expects it.
