WHY DOES GOD GIVE MAN STRONG DELUSIONS SO HE WILL BELIEVE A LIE? WHY???

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
2 Thessalonians 2:11.

In determining truth or error on any given topic or subject, of prime importance is a sincere prayer for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and a heartfelt distrust of one's own wisdom as one studies. Without the Holy Spirit, another Spirit that does not have our best interest in mind, will be interpreting the evidence to us.

The Messiah said,

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:27

The humble attitude with fear and trembling, without preconceived ideas of what is truth, is absolutely
necessary to determine truth on any given topic.

There were no other words that the Messiah repeated more than these,

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7,8.

To begin, one must study all the evidence available, using inspired sources. On every topic there will always be one or two statements or texts that, at first, appear to contradict the majority of the statements or texts. God designed these to appear in this manner for a definite purpose.

In man's creation, God endowed him with a free will, the power of choice. He will never force man to be convinced against his will. Therefore, God never gives perfect knowledge and He always leaves room for doubt.

“...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12.

Mm,

Why? They had pleasure in unrighteousness.

In reading the passage, starting way back at verse 5, it appears that God did all He could to win such who will be deluded before the delusion comes. He warned and they did not heed. Therefore, when the time comes that the warnings from God will end, then those who did not believe when they had the chance to will believe the lies and delusions of satan (verses 9 & 10).

Thus, my personal understanding of this verse is that the delusion will be "allowed" by God (in that he no longer warns), not so much that he "sends" the delusion. Verse 10 clearly states that they did not receive the love of the truth. Which implies that the truth was given to them by God, but they rejected it. Thus, by default they accepted the lies of satan.

If God did all he could then the person would believe, otherwise we are saying that humans are greater than God... I don't believe that... Satan gets blamed for many of the things that really are the invention of the human mind... Lastly, we cannot love the truth unless it is embodied in someone... to say we can love a "concept" is a misnomer I think.....

God SO LOVED the world that HE GAVE his only begotten SON....

No one comes to the Father but by the SON, the SON the Father loves...

Because God made us with free will, he wants us to choose to love him. Not force us to love him, or this would not really be love. He gives all we need to know to make that choice to love him. After that, it is on us to choose. We can love the truth as it is embodied in someone - Jesus Christ; who himself tells us that he is the way, the truth and the life (John 4:16).

The Holy Spirit speaking through Paul tells us directly there in context, which is why in verse eleven He says "And for this cause", which reason is in verse ten; that because they do not accept the love of the truth that they may be saved. As for the strong delusion, it is a strong misinterpretation that they will believe a lie, because they refuse to hear the truth. As for the Holy Ghost, we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost only when we have repented, and not before; so though someone may say they are a Christian, yet if they´ve left their sin untouched, then until now they have not received the Holy Ghost, but understand only by the wisdom of man, which wisdom can never behold the Truth according to God.

You know the Holy Spirit was speaking through Paul because? How would this time be different from other times when Paul wrote something? How do you determine when the Holy Spirit was or was not speaking through Paul or any other of the bible writers?

How many people choose their parents?

How many people with loving parents choose not to return that love?

Each phase of the following testimony is important to experience.

1 John 4:10-13

Phase 1
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Phase 2
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Phase 3
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Phase 4
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. KJV

Remember:

Rom 5:5
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. KJV

Two of the strongest examples in the Bible of human beings being presented with convincing truth and hardening against it, are of Pharoah, the king of Egypt, and of Judas, the disciple who betrayed the Messiah.

Both of them were given evidence that was unmistakebly supernatural. They mildly resisted accepting the truth at the beginning and as the evidence was presented more powerfully, they continued to show more determined resistance to the truth until they reached the point of being so deceived that one of them thought that he could use the dry path through the Red Sea that God had provided, and the other thought that he could force the Messiah to use divine power to set up an earthly kingdom and not let Himself be taken and crucified.

God has clearly stated that it is not given to man to direct his own way, both of these examples were determined to direct their own life. They could not be persuaded to yield the direction of their life to God. If we rely on our own judgment, we will surely be deceived. Our own judgment is faulty and unreliable.

God did send the evidences of truth to both of the Bible examples given above. In this sense, when God's pleading Spirit is withdrawn, the heart that has resisted the still small voice, is left to the delusions that it has chosen.

so you say.... Pharoah did not get to write his version, neither did Judas... faulty conclusion based on faulty premise..... again, "If a delusion is a lie, and God cannot lie, then strong delusions cannot be from God...."
