  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hardly anyone hates Jesus. Some people don't believe he ever existed, but they don't hate who he is supposed to be.

I agree. Rather than being hateful, I generally find society to be apathetic and generally disinterested in God-related questions. This trend was recently described in this article in USA Today:

Many say 'So What?' to God, religion, atheism – USATODAY.com

Hating or disliking many of his followers is another story. Most Christians act nothing like Christ and that puts a lot of people off.

This too is true, unfortunately. It is why we need to be a good example for our faith so that they don't think all Christians are what they see on TV or on street corners with bull-horns.

In the New Testament, I recall it was the leaders of religion, people in power, etc and so forth ... that had the most contempt for Jesus. And they failed to recognize this in themselves as they were blind to it ....

In other words, it was those who thought they knew God, or thought they were god-like ... who failed to recognize the obvious and called evil-good and vice versa.

"People" typically responded just fine to Jesus ... however they didn't respond all that well to the Pharisees, laws, etc and so forth ...
