  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

this sounds like total teen-poetry, so i'm sorry in advance - but my stories are my daydreams on paper. and yes, from time to time i use them to escape reality and to submerge myself in a world i can control. but honestly, my daydreams ARE like my second reality - hence my stories become real to me. i come to love my characters, to feel for them, to laugh with them and bawl with them. i love bringing them to life and spinning them through a crazy plot to bring out their true colors, darker sides, all that stuff.
i warned you it would sound like teen-poetry. but hey. it's true.

I write as a catharsis -I need to get something off of my chest and it's better that it gets turned into a piece of work than a random tirade at one of my friends. So I write for myself, in order to get rid of the stress.

I said this to my English lecturer at University in my first year, and we entered into a huge debate about why people write, because he maintained that no-one writes for themselves since everyone has an audience in mind (he takes a structuralist perspective to literature).

Why do I write? To keep my head from exploding...

I can't even imagine trying to be sane with all that bottled up inside. It has to get out, even if it's only for me.

I've just finished my first attempt at a "real" story that I hope to get published, so we'll just have to see if I can go from writing for my own pleasure to writing for mine and others' pleasure.

For me, it's like most artistic endeavors- it HAS to come outr somehow... so maybe I can bring some enjoyment to the public with it.

God Bless
Kevin

I started writing at the age of 10, because it was my only way out. I needed an emotional outlet. Then I stopped writing and when I had my son who was born with Autism I began to put my pain onto the pages.
My writing at first was just for me, but when I shared a couple of the poems I wrote with others I saw the tears well up in their eyes and knew that it had to be shared with others.

I sent my manuscript last year and became published. " A Touch of Peace" is something that was born out of pain and tears. Yes, a journey that I have to say saved me.

Why do I write? I write to live.:)

I write because my God is a creative God. He created me, and though I will not have the creative power to create an actual Universe and it's inhabitants, I can create a story about them as if they exist. I'm called to be like Christ, and through him, like God, therefore I feel that with the gift God has given me, I must write. It is my calling and my ministry. It is how I express my faith, and how I am more like the Creator, God, every day.
