  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The stuff I write is mostly just me sort of getting things straight in my head (and therefore its usually just bad poetry hehe), and most of the time I just write for me. So a bit of a random pondering, but I was wondering why other people write, and who do you write for? :)

Usually I write because I want to fulfill some underlying desire to achieve glory and emotional stimulation with my writing. I also write poetry for myself as well as others. I don't like displaying all my personal poetry to anyone though. Mostly that is just for myself. I'm content with writing so long as its something that I'm motivated and determined to do. Alas as it stands now I have no motivation to do anything or write anything. But I hope that I will shortly be given the will to do something by my heart so that I can feel alive again. I look forward to sharing my wisdom with the world and my stories to children and adults alike as is best possible.

I've always loved to travel, and to meet new people. As I can't do this full time, I write short stories about people and places I'd like to visit. It's all fiction, but when I'm writing, it makes me feel like I'm living it.

How honest should I be? I think I started writing as a result of the "I can write better than those clowns" syndrome. Looking back at my earlier efforts, I maybe should have rethought that notion.

These days I write as a hobby. It's something to do which allows me to use my talents and my creativity, but is not work, is not a chore, and at least feels like I'm accomplishing something. It's my chance to take part in a reality which is not the nasty here and now.

I'm not trying to say my life is terrible, it isn't, just that sometimes I need a distraction from the situations of today, especially the ones I can't do anything about anyway.

I write to escape reality.

When life is bothering me, I write.

I write about a life that I wish that I was in, I write about a beautiful place, or a moment in time in which I wish I could be at, other than the life that I am living.

Writing is an escape, a beautiful thing.

In my opinion, it is bit of a foolish question to ask, Why does one write.

It's like asking me, Why do you breathe? Why do you get up in the morning?

I write because I can, as any human can if they choose to. The gift of expression is oftentimes taken for granted, but upon the realization that I am free to write however and whatever I wish, I fell in love. Writing is a gift that we all share, but it doesn't seem many people truly pay attention the significance of having a form of communication. It allows a bond between humans who, outwardly, would think they have nothing in common. It allows barriers to be broken, wars to be ended, walls to be shattered, love to be shared. It allows any human who chooses to write the chance at everything and nothing. The power of a pen-- or any instrument to write with for that matter-- has enabled us to manifest our minds, to share philosophies, to enlighten. I love writing, as we all do here, and love to share as well as receive.

I journal because it helps me to get to see myself a whole lot clearer. I also write as a way to express myself and to be able to share with others. I love to write poetry and basically I just love to write. And that is a good thing because it is really a tool in my life today!

I write to explore my imagination - an interesting scenario might enter my head and I want to know more about it, so I start writing and it becomes more "real". I also write to try to clear my head and lay down the thoughts going through my head.

I write dreams that are too cool to forget. Sometimes a poem just begins forming and I write it down. Sometimes I feel that I should write down my day or the neat event that took place.

I am also inspired by great books and movies, even a board game called "Save the White Unicorn" caught my eye and I am forming a story based on it.

Writing gives me joy and I wish I had more time for it.
