  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do you think this?

Why do some of you think that you are just going to fly away, Satan is supossed to come back first, before christ, and we are supossed to fight against him, not just fly away, and leave those here right, I am new to this, and want to know where does your belief come from, is it in the bible?

Christians cannot fight against Satan in our own power. We are not able to do so. It is the LORD who fights for us and he is able. All saints are the bride of Christ, the bride does not fight, the bridegroom takes her and fights for her and defeats Satan. It all sounds very romantic, but is true.

The rapture of the church is promised to us and God is faithful to his own.

Paul told the church - to let no man deceive them -
the day won't come till -after the man of sin be revealed.

The church is to faithful to the end and get her crowns - Jesus per Rev. 22:12 brings His reward at the time of His coming back. Reward time is found at the 7th trumpet in Rev. 11:18.

So then we will not have a rapture before the 7th trump, I have been told that it isn't written in god's word that we will be, but I have just started reading the bible, and haven't got anywhere near the end of the book, I think I might go ahead and read revelatins anyway, so why is it then that people think they are just going to fly away then, if it isn't written?

Some people like to use verses that refer to the church being spared the wrath of God as an excuse as to why the church is not here during the tribuation. And in part it is wishful thinking, because who would want to be tortured and die for your faith if you could avoid it. I think it is predominantly a free world such as the USA belief because I think that our brothers and sisters in China and other countries where they are already being tortured for their faith would disagree about the pretrib rapture, avoidance of harm, theory.

Many people today preach but God never sent them. They preach error - others listen to them and then on and on goes the wrong message as to when the rapture will be. They like to tell people that Jesus will come back in secret and take the church out like a thief. The bible though tells us that the brethren are not in darkness and only those not watching will be taken - as in surprised like a thief. When the two witnesses get slain - Rev. 11 speaks of how a celebration time will begin by the wicked -they will even send gifts to each other. Then after about 3.5 days - the two witnesses rise fromt the dead {at the coming back of Jesus and go meet Him in the clouds}. The rest of men instantly give God the glory. This seventh trumpet will sound during the 6th seal...See how the wicked men go hide in the rocks? Jesus has returned in glory as was foretold in Isaiah chapter 2- starting at verse 10/ It sends the wicked in fear of His glroy and Him to seek out shelter among the rocks. Isaiah 2:12 notes this in rocks-hiding day as - the day of the LORD. Other verses show that it when the Lord will be in the clouds for the church to take her home and then there will be a time of silence in heaven. -the 7th seal
Hi. Interesting post and sounds good to me. Did you note the tense of "killing them" in chapt 11. They don't appear to be dying all at one time?

Reve 11:7 `And whenever they should be finishing the testimony of them, the wild beast, the one ascending out of the Abyss, shall be doing battle with them, and shall be conquering them, and shall be killing them,

Reve 6:10 and they were crying with a great voice, saying, `How long , O Master, the Holy and the True, does Thou not judge and take vengeance of our blood from those dwelling upon the land/earth?' 11 and there was given to each one a white robe, and it was said to them that they should rest themselves yet for a little time, till may be fulfilled [#4137] also their fellow-servants and their brethren which are about to be killed--even as they.
quote vinsight:
Luke 21:22
"For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled [#4137].
the two coming witnesses - Enoch and Elijah have yet to finish their testimony times as they left the earth without dying. Paul told the church about people getting their change - makes it only for the dead and those yet alive at the last trump. That means the OT prophets Elijah and Enoch must get in the dead believer crowd before Jesus can come back for the church.
Are you talking about those 2 actual people or the Spirits of them in the Saints?

hi big chrisfilm,
This whole thing about the rapture stems from this verse in 1 thess4:17- caught up with them. With who?=1thess 4:14. So really this passage is talking about the 2nd coming -the promise-the blessed hope of us all. If paul, peter were teaching this pre trib thing, why did they all have to endure martydom? There is the great trib and then the lords wrath.so the world endures its own tribulation and then the wrath? no we endure the tribulation, and they the wrath, this supports all scripture where great trib is used...see matt 24:21,29-30 ; rev 7:14 For some more interesting scriptures on whos gathered first- matt 13:37-41,42,49and dont forget 51, a real doozy

If you have just started reading the Bible, you are obviously a new Christian. The end times is NOT the place for a new Christian to start you will not understand because you do not have the spiritual understanding to grow into the complex world of eschatology. Don't do this. It will be frustrating to you.

You get yourself into a good Bible study and start reading the Gospel of John.

Excellent advice. And go to good bible study sites that focus on Christ and Him crucified and avoid the "raging waters" of Eschatology for awhile.

I highly recommend Preston Eby myself for deeper study as you advance in your reading of the Scriptures.

Honestly I agree with this. There are so many different views and it can get very frustrating and confusing for someone who is not rooted and grounded in the fundamentals of the faith. New Christians need the milk of the word first, the time will come when you are ready for the meat.

I agree with this too, start with the Gospel of John then move too the episles , once you have read though the bible at least once and have a firm grasp on the principles behind your faith then step into the end times study with fear and trembling. there is know more complicated and misunderstood area of christian study than this and it was not meant too derail you from the faith, its given to provide enlightenment to mature christians only, besides you wont understand what you are reading until you have that foundation. the reason there is so much confusion in this field of study is that too many peaple skip this process and jump into the end times study without a solid understanding of the scriptures and the principles that God teaches though it, add to that wishful thinking, and you will be a pretribber in a heartbeat
