Why do you think some people do not believe in God?

Sometimes that means giving up our own "personal rights" to our "space". Okay, non believers paid us a visit. Big deal. We love them, let them vent. It shouldn't be such a shock that they disagree with us. This was our chance to love them as Christ first loved us, right? And we'll get another chance soon I'm sure.

Is that an invitation?

Be happy to to explain, as right now, it is similar to people in the US asking each other about, "How do the the starving children in Africa feel about their lives?"

You can generalize, but the African could give you more accurate answers.

Hi Non sequitur, I want to talk to you but the rules are going to forbid that I can carry on. I was thinking of starting a thread in a place where both believers and non beleivers can both post, but not sure where to go. Any suggestions?

Just wondering. I've seen some people who are just so adamant about not believing. So I'm curious as to what drives that thought?

I can't even remember a time when I did not believe in God.

Even as a young child.

Just seemed natural, guess how you are raised *may* have contributions, positive or negative.

Good question though.

I've been standing at a great gate of indecision and going through very hellish, quite horrifying mental anguish for months now. Then I see people who are believers being cruel and it causes distress. But, I know deep down that I can't really lay the responsiblity of my vulnerable state on those believers here who are are harsh. Ultimately, I have to grow up and press in toward the goal regardless of the actions or words of others.

However, I understand what you're saying. I'll leave the thread. How I feel hasn't changed, but I'll back away and respect the wishes of the rules of the road.

It's mainly those who are "standing in the gate of indecision", that are threatened by non-believer's rhetoric, and some of us who are more fully persuaded of God and Christ are often compelled to defend the truth of The Gospel, lest those who were about to take a "first step", be dissuaded.

The logic behind this being a "Christian answers only forum", is likely based upon the fact that many who seek advice are somewhat in a place of indecision, and therefore particularly vulnerable to unedifying/non-faith based replies.

Speaking off site .... the JREF is of course open to all, much more wiiiiiiiide open for talk, debate, discussion, exploration, etc. Most consider it an "atheist" forum probably, but I found such a wide diversity there that it was a really great "hub" to get to know people from all walks with little censorship. Of course there are the flamers, trolls, etc ... but every forum I've ever visited has those.

Yes exactly. They can very much effect someone because compared to a christian(well from our view) an atheist tends to be the most negative and its not what a struggiling christian needs to hear.

Lets not forget we are told the devil will try to tempt us at any time with any way to get us to become unsure of what we think. Therefor we are avoid temptation. This doesn't mean don't ever go outside obviously. But if your at a "christian" forum, there should not be temptations, more so atheist temptations.
