Why do you dance? I've always loved to dance for as long as I can remember( and that's pretty long. lol).
When I dance it fills me with joy. It touches my soul like nothing else.
Does anyone else feel this way?
God bless!

I feel the same way, Nazneen.
The Lord blessed my parents with a love of music and dance, so it was always around me. Like many little girls, I learned to dance standing on my fathers's feet. When my parents learned new dances, they always taught my sisters and me. And that blessing was passed down to me.
At the small Messianic Synagogue I've attended for the past 16 years, Davidic worship was, and is, an integral part of worship. I've been dancing there since the very beginning. The L-rd told me once during a retreat that He drew me in with the music and the dance. I now co-lead the dance ministry, teaching the next generation of dancers and new members who wish to learn.
Why do I dance? Many reasons:
I cannot help myself, it's something I've always done.
It fills me with great and unspeakable joy, reaching down to the very depths of my soul.
When I dance, all the physical problems that plague my body (arthritis, bad knee, sciatica, bursitis, etc.) just disappear. It's as if they don't exist. And in actuality, they don't! I can concentrate on the purpose of the dance: praising and worshipping the L-rd.
For me, it's a way of expressing what I'm feeling more completely than words can ever do. Thanks, gratitude, love, pain, sadness..... all are released through dance. What I can't say in words I can say through dance!
It helps me draw closer to Him, to His presence; when I'm dancing I can feel Him. Yeshua is the Lord of the Dance, and I dance for and with Him.
I can share this blessing He has given me with others who cannot or do not dance, for whatever reason. And if I can touch just one person, somewhere, somehow, through dance, bringing them just a little closer to G-d, then it all comes full circle.
