I accept evolution as a mostly-accurate model of what really happened because it is by far the most successful model for explaining and predicting a vast range of data from multiple disciplines. If creationists want to be taken seriously by scientists, they have to come up with a model that does something like as good a job, and so far they have failed completely.

So your evidence for authentic historiography is a book by a non-historian, staking out a claim that is rejected by nearly all actual historians. Are you sure you know how scholarship works?

Evolution is no longer a theory. Richard Dawkins accords to it the preserve of a 'theorum.' That is a proven theory.
Kind of a dumb neologism, I think, and one that has caught on with precisely no one in science.

Horrible suggestions for this poster. If you are really interested in persuading him about evolution, rather than furthering your religious crusade, suggest sources on evolution that are consistent with his world view. Things like Miller's Finding Darwin's God, Falk's Coming to Peace with Science or Dennis Venema's introduction to evolution on biologos.org.

Actually the vast majority of NT scholars and historians disagree with your opinion here.

I have heard the opinions of the Carriers and Price on Jesus being a total fabrication and they are interesting and I will also say they have more merit than the arguments from evangelical scholars, who claim everything in the NT is historically accurate.

With that said, most legit scholars and historians believe Jesus was a real historical figure, they just disagree on which parts of his life as depicted in the gospels are historically credible. From what I have read from many of these people, a consensus can agree on the following:

-Jesus was real person
-Jesus was baptized
-Jesus had followers
-Jesus was crucified

Beyond that, they are all over the place and the opinion you get, will depend on how loosely or how critically, one applies the historical method.

I will grant you this, the history of NT scholarship, has been dominated by scholars and historians that are Christians themselves and I believe, it would be naïve to think this is a completely objective group of people.

So you approve of deliberate misrepresentation of science? I've go news for you. Deliberate misrepresentation is not criticism. It is dishonesty.

Absolutely. But there are and have been plenty of non-Christian scholars in the relevant fields as well.

Yes and that non-Christian group is growing, but the entire group is still dominated by Christians.

The non-Christian folks, tend to get a tad vilified by the more conservative folks, when their opinions tend to go against the flow, but that is to be expected I guess.

I have found one thing interesting in my readings and that is the NT scholars and historians that were Christians when they started their career, and then they became either agnostic or atheists, after being involved in serious research on the NT after a period of time.

Reason and faith are the gospel of skeptics and most Christians respectively, but what do you know of Jesus -- did he exist, was he a figment of the imagination, a poet's reverie, a mystics passion or was he the Son of God?
One should base one's conclusions on the available evidence.
As we can neither put divinity or deity in a laboratory,
Special pleading.
we are left with only one option -- a personal encounter with God.
Alleged encounters. Should we allow the same for those that claim encounters with extraterrestrial aliens visiting Earth?
Short of that we have zero.
Zero is a good start, it is better than x. (Or, is it?)
If x, by all appearances, equals zero, I would interpret that as grasping at straw.

Who can live without knowing with some degree of certainty whether there is a world after this one.
I can. I have never thought otherwise.

Micro evolution makes sense and is factual but the theory of evolution is not.

Assuming you are referring to what many call "macroevolution", it is really just microevolution causing two populations to become different from one another. Every difference between the human and chimp genome is due to a single microevolutionary event. Macroevolution is the accumulation of different microevolutionary events in two different lineages.

I've never seen a half monkey half man.... And where's that missing link again??? It can't be fact if it's not proven.

The correct term would be transitional hominid, and we have them.

Since they have been found, we don't call them missing links.

So if you believe in evolution tell us why.

I don't accept the farce of evolution. It has no proof, no evidence, and will not stand the test of time.

It is a lie, perpetuated by the elect intellectuals and they will fabricate, formulate, extrapolate data to prove it. Then hide, bastardize, destroy anything that proves against it.

If any educated, accredited, learned and respected person stands up publicly against this lie they will be discredited, harassed, blasphemed, ridiculed, and bullied for going against the powers that be that owe their lives, careers, credibility, financial backing and status to the perpetuation of this fallacy.

The time is coming where it is going to be harder and harder to hold on to this hoax. Things coming will make it harder and harder to deny that there is a dimension that exists in a different realm than ours and is spiritual in nature. It is going to get louder and louder and louder.

Things unexplainable by the joke called "empirical science" are coming to this age. Sights, and occurrences that will be impossible to accept and at the same time say that this world happened on it's own and life was spontaneous as well as all living things came from this one little impossibility.

With the advancing of cell phones and cameras, everyone has one, more and more real events will be recorded and unexplainable by the minds of the people chained by the closed system of evolution where mere chance and natural factors have molded this one organism as it moved through the stages of morphing, mutating, and deviation, living and dying until what we have today was arrived at.

They will be left, mouth hanging open, while events unfold that shatter the concept that this is all chance and random.

All ready, scientists and educated accredited people are documenting things that are unexplainable by this archaic principle. These "wise" people are scrambling to understand what they can use next as an excuse for the facts they are observing.

Eventually, it will end up that we did not start by chance, but we were seeded here by some extremely more advanced intelligent beings that can move through time space and dimensions.

They will of course, never accept that this is what the Bible has said all the time. Yet they will still not believe that the Biblical account is true. They will propose another story that, in the end, will exclude God.

Hi. You don't know me, but you've just accused me publicly of lying and fabricating evidence. Your posts make it quite clear that you don't know much of anything about the science involved, so you must feel comfortable slandering people based on, what, a gut feeling? Something somebody else told you? Do you really think this is a moral or Christian approach to take?

Right. That's why the Discovery Institute Fellows are all living in poverty, while evolutionary biologists are driving Rolls Royces.

By all means, let us know when this evidence starts appearing in the real world, rather than in your hopes and dreams. In the meantime, evolution has nothing to do with excluding God and everything to do with explaining the natural world, something you cannot do.

So you are saying you have a personal opinion, none of which is based on any responsible research or academic background of your own.
