I have no idea why anyone would believe anything in the bible is true. If you don't take it litteraly, how do you pick and choose the parts you believe? Why is the bible so important? Since Jesus only appears in the bible (if you don't count his clones in older mythologies), why do you invest so much in this religion that is based on that story?

What business is it of yours?

WE have the HOLY GHOST to teach us and guide us
All christains have had a encounter with GOD in there lives .
I found the bible true and see many things that came true .
i know there are a few typo errors but they take nothing away from the truth .
I love GODS written Word and have had about everything in the NEW TESTAMENT .Which started after MY LORD Jesus Christs Death !

Brinny wrote that she takes the Bible literally. Does anyone care? Is it true, anyway? Is brinny capable of posting on topic?

yes. Every word that proceeds from God will not return to Him void. It bears fruit. Like these words:

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry,
and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?
when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him;
and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
and thine health shall spring forth speedily:
and thy righteousness shall go before thee;
the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer;
thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.
If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke,
the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry,
and satisfy the afflicted soul;
then shall thy light rise in obscurity,
and thy darkness be as the noon day:
~Isaiah 58:6-10

Every single word uttered in His name and for His name's sake and for His kingdom will not return to Him void.

That does not mean that every word is of literal meaning. Perhaps the use of a dictionary would be of assistance before posting?

At least you have not made the thread self-centered this time. Progress, I suppose!

Then let's see some scientific evidence of these truths. If you can show me this, then I'm with you guys, but if all you have is a feeling, or a personal experience, then sorry, that is just not enough to claim such truths. Prove to me that jesus is a god, and not a fictional character. Or is it my word against yours? In that case, these beliefs don't hold much water compared to science. Why am I so crazy about science and evidence? Because it's the best system of finding truths that we have. You don't rely on faith when you judge a criminal, do you? I want to see these evidence that convice you guys that there is a god. Because so far, I have seen nothing more than wordplays, wishful thinking and pseudo science from the discovery institute. There has to be something else to it, I refuse to believe that humans are so stupid that they could actually believe in the flying spaghetti monster. But then again, there is scientology rofl!

Check out Ravi Zacharias. He is a gifted debater. He addresses all the issues you raise.

Are you seeking God? What would proving His existence accomplish for you? Are you just curious? Why did you start this thread?

I believe in God, Creator, the Alpha and the Omega, and my Abba. You do not. What is your point?

ROFL!! Interesting response, brother in Christ. Thank you for sharing your opinion. It appears you've had lots of practice. My belief in the Word of God, and taking Him literally at His Word is my belief. I'm not asking it to be your belief.

I merely responded to the thread because it caught my eye. Simple as that.

Is all truth scientific truth?

Personally, I seek to follow the Spirit, and the scriptures are helpful in my doing that. But I don't require them to be a miracle book of answers to all questions. I find as much inspiration in poetry and music as I do in the Bible.

is all truth scientific truth? what? science is knowledge about the truth. Personal experience is not science. I want to know as much as I can about the universe, and a universe with a creator god is a much different universe from one without. Since so many seem to believe in this god, there could possibly be something to it. But so far, I haven't seen anything but arguments for god. No evidence, no tests confirming this hypothesis. Why is that? One would think such a phenomenon would be quite easily tested positive?

So when you fall in love, that's just chemical. is it? A piece of music is just vibrations in the air? If you want to find the divine, you're more likely to find it there.
