Why do YECists have such a low opinion of God?

Think about it, in order to maintain the belief that the earth was created 6000 years ago, you MUST believe that God is a deceiver. That God would give humanity an imperfect and flawed ability to reason, set up all the physical evidence so that it is contrary to reality and then punish Mankind when they use their God given abilities to attempt to figure out
whats going on. To be a YECist is to claim that God doesn't WANT us to acknowledge his existence, and enjoys hiding his existence from us. This sounds more like Loki then Yahweh.

Either that, or you have to give Him the benefit of a doubt and realize that He documented what He did to clarify (not cloud) the issue.

He knew in His omniscience that someday people would accuse Him of this, and we have His written testimony of what really happened.

People keep bringing up navels, tree rings, and varves, and, to be honest, if Adam had a navel (and I strongly believe he didn't), then that was God's decision, not nature's.

To put nature's interpretation over God's documentation is presumptuous to the core, and to say He is "deceptive" is blasphemy.

Come on. You are talking about a diety who created a universe that he thought was good but that quickly became so bad that he repented of making it and decided to destroy it with global flood. Why would we expect the bungling God you guys describe to be able to clarify anything?

Along with a geologic column full of fossils of animals that never existed and ample other evidence of great age? Wouldn't that be deceptive? Did this fully functioning world have all the evidence of meteor strikes and massive vulcanism already in place? Did God not only removing all evidence of the global flood the Bible claims he used to destroy his botched creation but also creating a great deal of evidence that it never happened? Wouldn't that be deceptive?

Show us how your interpretation is actually different from what I said. Don't you claim that God thought his orginal creation was perfect? Don't you claim the he soon cursed it? Don't you claim that the nature that God created as part of this perfect creation is hostile to God? Haven't you claimed that God was forced to repent of his creation even though it supposed to be perfect in the first place? Haven't you claimed the Lucifer had inequity within but was supposedly part of this perfect creation? Don't you claim that great evil was caused the the "Sons of God" (who really weren't exactly the sons of god so I guess he wasn't too clear about that) mating with the daughters of men even though you claim that these "sons of God" were part of God's supposedly perfect creation.

It is your interpretation of the Bible that makes God out to be bungler and a deceiver. You can squirm all you want but you can't actually get away from it. As we have seen before the more you try to wiggle out of it the deeper you sink in.

You wouldn't call "embedding" age - however that is supposed to work - in a 6100-year old planet to make it look like a 4.5 billion-year old planet artificial aging. Fine.

You claimed that making this planet look older than it really is is not deceptive because God "documented" what he did. All I am asking you is to show us where we can find this documentation.
