I have no doubt that my sin is already forgiven but for me, I still must look to find my faults in order to grow Spiritually. God will change us if we seek his help but we can become stagnant in our growth if we stop self examination.
It is also important for us to do what we can to make those people whole whom we have damaged. God's Spirit can reveal these sins if we truly seek guidance. When we find those we have sinned against, we should go to them and confess our wrong and rectify what we can.

Whenever I sin I thank God that I am still righteous, not because of anything I have done, but because Jesus made me righteous.
It is one thing to say that is for yourself, but I have seen so many people take 1 John 1:9 and make a complete doctrine out of it and tell people that if they don't confess there sins they can't be in fellowship with God or they may even lose there salvation.
And when I try to show them the Scripture that this is not true, they will use 1 John 1:9 like a club and beat me over the head with it.

Do we have to confess our sins? Or is the debt the lord payed on the cross paid in full past present and future?
If we are under grace and not the old covenant law (mosaic law) as some advacate, why do we need to confess sin?

Salvation under grace means Jesus died while the world was in sin and undeserving of his compassion, mercy, unconditional love, etc, hence grace, and provided himself as the only sinless sacrifice that could overcome the consequence of death from the tree of knowledge of good and evil as the penalty for all sins to satisfy Gods Judgement and redeem us to reconcile man back to God to restore all relationships now and in the future.
The confession of our sins after receiving salvation is to maintain our redemption reconciliation and relationship with God by having that provision in place so when we do make mistakes and fall, we can repent and confess these current sins after we have been saved so we can continue to walk upright before God with no hidden sins.
Another words we can’t receive salvation and continue to sin and lead a lukewarm lifestyle and expect to make it to heaven, that is a lie and deception from the enemy.
The confession of our sins after we receive salvation is to deal and forgive us of the sins we commit after we have received salvation so we can continue to walk with God and maintain our holy, consecrated, purified, sanctified, and cleansed vessels because we are the tabernacle of God and we are the resource that God uses to interact and touch other people’s lives.
So, the confession of our sins after grace is a provision in place to help us maintain our redemption, reconciliation, and relationship with God.

That all sounds good, but it is not what God's Word says.
Colossians 2:6 says that as you have received Him, so you should walk in Him.
We received Him by grace through faith, so we should walk by grace through faith.
This confessing of sins to maintain righteousness is nothing more than doing a work so a person can say they contributed to stay saved.
Confessing your sins does not maintain a relationship with God.
Confessing your sins will help your conscience though.
Whenever you sin, confess it and be grateful for what Christ has done for you on the cross.
Confession does not change how God deals with you.
Confession or lack thereof will change how you think about God.
God deals with you based on your being in Christ and sin does not remove you from the Body of Christ as you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:14

With one qualification, a fully mature Christian can reject his salvation.
Just like a child can't reject there parents, but an adult can.
You can't lose salvation like you would lose something earthly.
And you can't lose it because of a sin you committed, unless that sin is blasphemy against the Holy spirit by a mature believer.

im not super familiar with the OSAS belief, but ok i understand the sin against the Holy Spirit.
So how does lukewarm Christians fit into that OSAS belief if sin doesn't/cant seperate them from God etc?
