I saw this caption on an educational display in the Science Center of Singapore.
The display says: human cells die and are regenerated daily. Some cells die so that other cells can grow. Overall, the process is for the benefit of the whole body.
We are part of humankind, part of a church, part of a culture, part of a country, part of a family. Sometimes, babies are lost and we struggle to hold on to our faith system as we ask "Why?" Looking at the example of nature and creation, and considering the works of God our Creator, we can trust that events are held in His hands and that all things work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.
Meanwhile, we can know that our babies in heaven are truly found in Christ, free from the sin and pain of this world. If you can get your hands on it, I strongly recommend "Eternity: the vision of Marietta Davis" for all mothers who had lost their seed. It is a collection of the visions of a girl Marietta Davis who went into coma in 1848 for several days and went to heaven and saw undescribable things, including the souls of infants, young children and foetus. After coming out of her coma, Marietta shared her revelation which was recorded before she returned to the Lord a few months later. I'd just quote this part from page 25, "Marietta, we are really happy to talk to you because you will eventually go back to those who loved us and mourned when we died. When you see them again, would you please give a message to the man who is now sitting beside your body on earth? Tell him that, although our parents may grieve for us, we are free and extremely happy. Tell them that this is the only world we know. It is here that we first awoke to the reality of our existence. Our guardian angels take us to visit earth, but it is not at all like heaven. We see sorrow, pain and death there. Here in heaven there is harmony, happiness and life."
