WHY DO SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS HOLD TO AN UNINSPIRED THEOLOGICAL POSITION IN SPITE OF BIBLE AND SPIRIT OF PROPHECY EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY

Some among us hesitate to examine any position which has been held for some time and is, therefore, believed to be one of the ancient landmarks, especially if it has been held for a very, very long time. Many believe that if the pioneers understood a point in a certain way, this would be a denial of the foundation of our faith if one arrives at a different position than theirs because of our study of inspired materials.

“Our only safety is in preserving the ancient landmarks. “To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” [Isaiah 8:20.] CTBH 116
“...there was much talk about standing by the old landmarks. But there was evidence they knew not what the old landmarks were.” Counsels to Writers and Editors, 30
“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and Heaven alone are infallible.” CET 203

In comparing the schedule of the feast days and the days which were called, “Sabbaths”, within the sanctuary services, one notices a real discrepancy between the inspired history of the interpretation and fulfillment of these days in 31 C.E., and the explanation of the sanctuary system, itself, as given by prominent church evangelists, pastors and teachers and written about at some length in the historical book, “The Cross and its Shadow”, by Elder S.N. Haskell.
“We cannot be excusable in accepting only the light which our fathers had one hundred years ago. If our God-fearing fathers had seen what we see, and heard what we hear, they would have accepted the light, and walked in it. If we desire to imitate their faithfulness, we must receive the truths open to us, as they received those presented to them; we must do as they would have done, had they lived in our day.” Historical Sketches, 197
In the book, The Cross and its Shadow, Elder Haskell, gives an overlay of the 52 days of the spring feasts in the sanctuary services showing how the Passover, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the second day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which is the Wave sheaf ceremony, all fell on the exact days shown in the prophetic observances of the sanctuary—the Passover was to be observed on the 14th day of the first month, the first day of Unleavened Bread, on the 15th day, and the Wave sheaf was to be observed “on the morrow after the Sabbath” (Lev. 23:11), the 16th day of the same month. The reference in Lev. 23:11 would show that the 15th day was an annual Sabbath, a “shadow” or prophetic Sabbath.
From the New Testament, Elder Haskell proves that Christ's fulfillment of these spring feasts fell on the exact days as prophesied, Christ's death occurring on the Friday Passover, His resting in the tomb on the 15th, the “shadow” Sabbath and the 7th day Sabbath that year, and His resurrection occurring on the 16th, the day of the Wave Sheaf offering. In this is demonstrated that the “shadow” Sabbath was prophetic of the 7th day Sabbath in the year of fulfillment when the “shadow” and the real 7th day Sabbath occurred on the same day.
Instruction from Leviticus 23:15, 16 counts from the Wave sheaf offering, the 16th day, the 2nd day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, 7 more “Sabbaths” which were 7 sets of 7 day periods, equaling 49 days, to the “morrow after the 7th Sabbath” for the scheduling of the Day of Pentecost, the 50th day.
Had Elder Haskell continued his previous line of thinking he would have shown that the Day of Pentecost was destined to be fulfilled after a “Sabbath” just as the Wave sheaf ceremony was fulfilled, showing the position in the weekly cycle to be a first day of the week, a “Sunday”. In this he erred as he falsely considered the Day of Pentecost to be one of the “shadow” or prophetic Sabbaths in the sanctuary system, in spite of the plain Word of God to the contrary.
This false concept of considering the Day of Pentecost to be a “shadow” Sabbath has continued from the time of Elder Haskell and is still believed by so many today. Many may not realize but this false theory has led the Adventist theology down a very dark path of mysticism as pertains to the timing of the sanctuary services that relate to the second advent. Therefore, the words of the prophet , E.G. White, are not comprehended.
“These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event, but as to the time....In like manner, the types which relate to the second advent must be fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” The Great Controversy, 399, 400
“The Lord has been revealed to us in ever-increasing light. Our privileges are far greater than were the privileges of God's ancient people. We have not only the great light committed to Israel, but we have the increased evidence of the great salvation brought to us through Christ. That which was type and symbol to the Jews is reality to us. They had the Old Testament history; we have that and the New Testament also. We have the assurance of a Saviour who has come, a Saviour who has been crucified, who has risen,...” Christ's Object Lessons, 317
The far reaching implications of the prophetic sanctuary services and their exact and precise timing relating to the fulfillment of the “shadow” Sabbaths, bring new meaning to a statement that has been read among us many times regarding the proclaiming of the Sabbath under the power of the latter rain. What could be included in the message of “proclaiming the Sabbath more fully” that has such a negative impact on the church and nominal Adventists?
Without a change of belief, many will not recognize or accept the latter rain message.
“And at the commencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth [Hosea 6:2, 3.] and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully. This enraged the church, and nominal Adventists, as they could not refute the Sabbath truth.” The Word to the Little Flock, 18
The ceremonies and types which relate to the second advent have requirements that must be met just as the requirements of the first advent types were met in Christ' fulfillment in 31 C.E. one of these being that the “shadow” or prophetic Sabbaths MUST be fulfilled by falling on 7th day Sabbaths in the year of fulfillment. These “shadow” Sabbaths directly connect to the importance and glory of the Sabbath in their fulfillment.
“I saw that we sensed and realized but little of the importance of the Sabbath, to what we yet should realize and know of its importance and glory. I saw we knew not what it was yet to ride upon the high places of the earth and to be fed with the heritage of Jacob. But when the refreshing and latter rain shall come from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power we shall know what it is to be fed with the heritage of Jacob and ride upon the high places of the earth. Then shall we see the Sabbath more in its importance and glory. But we shall not see it in all its glory and importance until the covenant of peace is made with us at the voice of God,...” Maranatha, 245

What I want to know, personally, is why only "144,000 people can get into heaven" and why a date was set for the end times when Jesus, who is God, said no human knows the time or date. I'd also like to know....

What is with AMALGAMATION.

"But gastrointestinal peculiarities and Sabbath swapping are not the reasons why I wrote this article. There is another Seventh-Day Adventist doctrine whose message is so vile, so racially and sexually perverted that the church has gone to great political and social lengths to deny that it ever existed. But it did exist. It does exist. It’s called “amalgamation." This is the twisted belief, invented and publicly endorsed by so-called SDA prophetess Ellen G. White, that Negroes (actually any human beings of darker skin tone) are the result of Jehovah's “perfect” people having sex with apes or other animals.

She wrote,
"God cannot take the slave to heaven, who has been kept in ignorance and degradation, knowing nothing of God, or the Bible, fearing nothing but his master's lash, and not holding so elevated a position as his master's brute beasts. But He does the best thing for him that a compassionate God can do. He lets him be as though he had not been." Ellen G. White, Spiritual Gifts, vol. 1, p. 193.
So basically, she is contending that the uneducated black man (or woman) isn’t even as good as a “brute beast." Therefore, the “compassionate god” will simply let him rot in his grave in the same manner as a beast. (Note, it is no small coincidence that White frequently equated “colored people” with beasts. In fact, this comparison lies at the very core of her amalgamation theory.) So, what is it? White herself gave the definition:
"But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere." -Spiritual Gifts, Vol. 3, p. 64, 1864.

"Every species of animal which God had created, were preserved in the ark. The confused species which God did not create, which were the result of amalgamation, were destroyed by the flood. Since the flood there has been amalgamation of man and beast, as may be seen in the endless varieties of species of animals and certain races of men."- Spiritual Gifts, Vol. 3, p.75, 1864.
In essence, humans had sex with animals, thus creating whole new “confused” species. Even in White’s day, this was known in scientific circles to be a genetic impossibility. Still, the SDA church then as now staunchly contends that Sister White spoke nothing that did not come directly from Jehovah . (Not surprisingly, these very passages were removed from later revised publications, presumably because they caused the church considerable political embarrassment.)" What is with ANTISEMITISM and supporting Hitler in Germany, even fighting for him during the henious Holocaust against Jews during his reign of terror?

"Adventists in Nazi Germany
The Silent Church, Human Rights, and Adventist Social Ethics

Dr Zdravko Plantak, author of The Silent Church: Human Rights and Adventist Social Ethics, is a Seventh-day Adventist scholar and the Chairman of the Religion Department, Columbia Union College.
Here is a brief excerpt from Plantak's book, published by Macmillan Press (UK) & St Martin's Press Scholarly and Reference Division, New York, N.Y. (USA), 1998. (Text excerpted from pp. 17-21).

Adventists in Germany

The German Adventists seem to have fallen short of their proclamation of religious liberty at the time of World War I, between the two wars and during World War II. In imperial Germany, most Adventists espoused extreme nationalism and active military collaboration. An Adventist author argued in December 1915 that 'the Bible teaches first, that participation in war is not against the sixth commandment; second, that fighting on the Sabbath is no transgression of the fourth law'. The German church leaders, however, recognized the error of their policies after the war and confessed their loyalty to the worldwide Adventist community at the European Division meeting at Gland, Switzerland on 2 January 1923.
This declaration, however, was weakened by an additional pronouncement which recognized that each member possessed 'absolute liberty to serve his country, at all times and in all places, in accord with the dictates of his personal conscientious conviction'. This statement allowed German Adventists to repeat the mistake from the First World War during Hitler's regime under the Third Reich.

As Erwin Sicher has rightly observed in 'Seventh-day Adventist Publications and the Nazi Temptation', Adventists failed in numerous ways in regard to the Nazi regime. As early as 1928, before Adolf Hitler came to power, Adventists were calling for a strong Führer. Article after article dealt with this Führer ideal in German writings as well as in Adventist publications.

Later, Adventist writers welcomed the apparent rebirth of Germany in their publications and also by vote. The Adventist town of Friedensau had voted by 99.9 per cent for the Nazi parliamentary state. When some Adventists refused to salute the Swastika flag and to use the Hitler greeting, the President of the East German Conference, W. Mueller, argued that it was bad for the church's image. He concluded that 'under no circumstances did any Adventist have the right to resist the government, even if the government prevented him from exercising his faith. The resistance would be unfortunate because it would mark Adventists as opponents of the new state, a situation that should be prevented. Another prominent Adventist writer and the editor of various Adventist church papers, Kurt Sinz, saw Hitler's strong command at the beginning of National Social rule as designed by God. Otto Bronzio went a step further, saying in the official Adventist paper, Der Adventbote, that 'the National Socialist Revolution was the greatest of all time, because it made the maintenance of a pure inheritance the basis of its ethnic life'. Some suggest that what he meant may be gleaned from a boxed quotation from Hitler—on the question of blood—which appeared on the same page.

This idea of a 'pure inheritance', instigated by Hitler and carried throughout the German nation, also afflicted German Adventists. Although blatant racism seldom appeared in Adventist publications, Adventists did frequently print negative comments about the Jews, they tacitly supported sterilization of the mentally disabled, and many were caught in the quickened pride of German nationalism. The same doctrine of German superiority to other nations was carried into Adventist education in Germany where students were encouraged to learn to 'will and to think in German'. To will in German was a mystical Nazi concept; for, the Party taught, Germans 'will' differently from any other nationals. Educator W. Eberhardt insisted, in addition, that Adventist schools nurtured 'the National Socialist Spirit' between class periods, when they reviewed the news, studied Nazi ideals and sang German national songs.

With growing pressure for greater collaboration, many Adventists of all age groups joined Nazi organizations such as the Hitler Youth, the BDM (Association of German Girls), the Labour Service and the German Red Cross. All these clubs were designed for the purpose of Nazi indoctrination, and although Adventists knew that a significant percentage of the Labour Service participants were members of the SA, SS and Stanhelm, the most fanatical Nazi groups who indoctrinated and militarized the youth, they approved of participation in the clubs. Johannes Langholf strongly supported the Labour Service. He wrote in Aller Diener, 'We expect every member to follow the divine command, "pray and work". It would be absolutely contrary to our understanding if we refuse the Labour Service.' Patt suggested that the principal reason for Adventists joining the Nazi Labour Front was unemployment and other economic hardships and that 'most Adventist workingmen succumbed to the pressure and became members of the labor service to save their families.' Yet, joining a party organization was not obligatory, and some joined the party as well.

In Germany Adventists supported Nazi foreign policy and, eventually, the war. Possible lack of access to reliable information and, as a result, a misconception of the real situation led them to believe that their Führer was 'a man of peace'. When Austria was incorporated into the Reich, German Adventists 'shared in the happiness over Austrians' return home to the motherland'. They believed that by God's help and through 'God's assistance our capable Führer Adolf Hitler became the liberator of Austria'. After the liquidation of Czechoslovakia on 16 March 1939, Adventists still raised no objections. Even for this act of cruelty and oppression they found some justification. Then came the attack on Poland which the whole of Europe recognized as an act of aggression. Nevertheless, in an editorial Sinz could write that in view of the 'inhuman tortures our Volkskomrads have suffered among this foreign people', the German attack was probably justified. Adventists continued to support Hitler and celebrated his 51st birthday 11 days after war had escalated in the West with the German invasion of Denmark and Norway on 9 April 1940. The Adventist Morning Watch Calendar although printed four months earlier stated:

Trust in his people has given the Führer the strength to carry through the fight for freedom and honour of Germany. The unshakable faith of Adolf Hitler allowed him to do great deeds, which decorate him today before the whole world. Selflessly and faithfully he has struggled for his people; courageously and proudly he has defended the honour of his nation. In Christian humility, at important times when he could celebrate with his people, he gave God in Heaven honour and recognized his dependence upon God's blessings. This humility has made him great, and this greatness was the source of blessing, from which he always gave for his people. Only very few statesmen stand so brilliantly in the sun of a blessed life, and are so praised by their own people as our Führer. He has sacrificed much in the years of his struggle and has thought little about himself in the difficult work for his people. We compare the unnumbered words, which he has issued to the people from a warm heart, with seeds which have ripened and now carry wonderful fruit.

Adventists in Nazi Germany

"SDA CHURCH'S HIDDEN HOLOCAUST CLOSETS"
L.R Conradi and his rejection of counsel of the General Conference and Spirit of Prophecy was responsible to tremendous damage to the work in Europe which has lasted to this day as the Reform Adventists split from the General Conference over the issue of military service. Here is my notes on this...
One leader in Europe, L.R. Conradi rejected good counsel and was wrong in what he did and had shown this tendency long before WWI and after. This caused many true believers to form the reformed movement that actually were correct in their stance on the war and the pillars of Adventism. L. R. Conradi led the European area of the church in a terrible direction, against what the church held and against Ellen White, which has affected that part of the church to this day. Here is a little background:
Louis R. Conradi, 1856-1939, was leader of SDA work in Europe but he caused damage which was not apparent in the beginning. "...In 1910 a missionary to the Turkish mission, Z. G. Baharian informed W. C. White and W. A. Spicer of increasing doubts concerning the spirit of prophecy. These doubts, according to Baharian, came largely from L. R. Conradi.

1919 Seventh-day Adventist Bible Conference

Baharian traced the roots of the differing positions to about 1898 when the question of health reform began to be introduced to Europe. He directly broached the question of the spirit of prophecy in a council meeting in Constantinople in October, 1910, at which Conradi was present. According to Baharian, Conradi spent some time seeking to prove that the Ellen White writings could be divided according to varying degrees of inspiration, consisting largely of two parts: testimonies which were largely revelations from God and other works that, while the subject matter was guided by the Holy Spirit, the content could contain errors and Conradi affirmed that he himself had corrected some of these "errors."..." With Conradi leading them from believing in the work of Ellen White, he did much damage which to this day still lingers. But the story gets worse.

The leadership of the Adventist church in Germany with Conradi leading them persecuted and reported any Adventist who would not support the war effort for the Kaiser in World War I. They went after any Adventist who stood up for the Sabbath or refused to enter the army and reported Adventist to the government. After the war the General Conference sent Spicer to check on what had occured but Conradi was not taken out and the results showed itself when Nazism again lured many Adventist in Germany a few years later.

During the rise of the Nazi Party, the Seventh-day Adventist church in Germany and Austria, was described as "a small sect which bent over backwards to accomodate National Socialism." (Ian Kershaw, "Hitler" a biography in two volumes. Vil.1, p 541)

The support by the Adventist church in Germany of Hitler is well documented and in 2005 the Austrian, North German, South German Union Conferences, published an apology for their actions during Hitler's era, which included urging young Seventh-day Adventist men to serve in the German army, even saying that it was dishonorable not to serve. There were brave Adventist youths who refused to violate their consciences and were executed by the Nazis.

Here is from the Adventist Review...

". In Europe, however, during the era of the two world wars, noncombatancy as a normative ideal suffered irreparable damage.

As World War I neared, Germany had the largest Adventist membership of any European nation. Ludwig R. Conradi, who played a major role in establishing Adventism in Europe, led the German church. Drawing on Ellen White's favorable comments from Basel in 1886 about Adventist participation in military drill exercises, Conradi basically repudiated noncombatancy. Under his leadership, the German church took the position that during wartime, Adventist draftees would not only bear arms, but also not make an issue of Sabbath observance. Conradi insisted only on Sabbath keeping by Adventist military personnel during peacetime.34

The General Conference condemned the German course after World War I, though Conradi argued that he was only following guidelines given him by church leaders. At a meeting in Gland, Switzerland, in 1923, European church administrators agreed upon a statement close to the American position, affirming that Adventists should refuse all combatant service as well as any non-humanitarian Sabbath work. The German church leaders admitted they had erred....."

Christian7PraiseJesus,

Of the points you bring to the discussion, I would like to first address the subject of the 144,000. To be honest, the Seventh-day Adventist Church does not believe that only 144,000 people will go to heaven.
The critics may say that the Church believes that only 144, 000 people will go to heaven, but that is not a true statement.

The book of Revelation states that those who lost their lives for Christ's sake were told to rest for a little while until others who will suffer persecution and be killed as they were, is accomplished.

“...and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.” Revelation 6:11

Then another group is mentioned who are sealed; these pass through the time of the plagues, and are alive when Christ comes back to earth; they number 144,000. All of the righteous dead are raised to life and they with the 144,000 living saints who have never died, are taken to heaven when Jesus returns to this earth. (See Revelation 7:1-10)

1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

You posted that you would like to know why a date was set for the end times when the Bible states that no man knows the day nor the hour. If you will reread the historical records, you will find that the Seventh-day Adventist Church was non-existent at the time of the Great Awakening when William Miller preached from Daniel's prophecy of 2300 days that would reach to the sanctuary being cleansed on October 22, 1844. It was a non-denominational movement that went in all the churches, but the Seventh-day Adventist Church was not one of them. The unbiblical belief of the movement interpreted the “earth” to be the “sanctuary”. But the prophecy was actually referring to the sanctuary in heaven where Christ, our High Priest is now ministering before the Ark of God and forgiving the sins of those who confess to Him.

I would like to say about the inspired statements of Ellen White on the subject of amalgamation that they are heartbreaking. These statements, however, give a broad outlook on the entire picture of Satan's terrible work on God's creation, and explain many puzzling problems, such as the dinosaurs and the almost endless varieties of species of plants, birds and animals, etc.

God's love is seen in the declarations in Revelation 7:9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;...”

These are some other statements from Ellen White.

“The black man’s name is written in the book of life beside the white man’s. All are one in Christ. Birth, station, nationality, or color cannot elevate or degrade men. The character makes the man. If a red man, a Chinaman, or an African gives his heart to God in obedience and faith, Jesus loves him none the less for his color. He calls him His well-beloved brother.” The Southern Work, p. 8

“Many of those who have had every advantage, who have regarded themselves as superior to the colored people because their skin was white, will find that many of the colored race will go into heaven before them.” The Southern Work, p. 55

Do you have the Ellen G. White CD giving one easy access to a large number of statements on this subject? When one is able to read them altogether, one gets a better prospective of the whole picture of how the statements were meant.

You have given a good reply, that is how I see it as well.
Conradi cause great damage that you will find in Europe to this day, I did a thread on this issue, but having trouble finding it. Maybe I can find it in my notes and post more deeply into what he did.

What I want to know, personally, is why only "144,000 people can get into heaven" and why a date was set for the end times when Jesus, who is God, said no human knows the time or date.

Don’t overwrite our teaching with that of another group. The 144,000 are a special group who deal with a special time just before Jesus comes. But notice that after identifying and carefully delineating the 144,000 there was seen an innumerable global multitude of the redeemed (Revelation 7:9).

After giving some time to studying what went on in the mid-1800s you might ask the question differently. The time was right but there was confusion about the event at that time being pointed to by prophecy. There was a key event in the ministry of Jesus that has high importance to us. That’s another thread. As for the date for Jesus 2nd coming that is still in the mist as He said.

(Not surprisingly, these very passages were removed from later revised publications, presumably because they caused the church considerable political embarrassment.)" AMALGAMATION: The Racist Doctrine Seventh-Day Adventists Don’t Want You to Know ~ ExChristian.Net

I would suggest being careful of condemning EGW’s observations about pre-flood amalgamation. “Amalgamation” is an exercised science in today’s world – we call it genetic engineering. We do cross species mashups in labs - not generally by direct physiology. Don’t relegate pre-flood people to the modern perception of stupid cave men. These were people not far removed from Edenic perfection of mind and body – though very defective morals were prevalent. If we can perform amalgamations today consider what they may have been capable of with their level of intelligence, length of life, and ability to communicate without any language barriers! Also, we don’t know the capabilities and limitations on pre-flood genetics through direct cross insemination. Though our understanding of genetics and chromosome matchups would seem to prevent many combinations, we do have mules and ligers by natural methods. That capability may have been more expansive before the flood and for a period after.

Frankly, I don't know what to make of todays variation of species being traceable to amalgamation and how that might relate to, say for example, deliberate variation seen in dogs, horses, and other species.

Even if there is truth that variation in certain races of people is traceable to post flood amalgamation it would be very unwise to try to figure out who that might be and attempt to devalue them for it. We must value all life. If that life shows intelligence our care must sharpen. If there is evidence of sentience then we must value that being with due respect - even love. We have no right to subject them to servitude just because we may think they might have mixed genetics or their intelligence is different than ours. The Samaritans of Jesus' time were considered mixed breeds yet He went out of His way to extend the benefits of the gospel to them.

As for the simple consignment to non-existance verses time in hell for those held in deep subjugation. That is a matter beyond our judgement. I sure would not want to be in the shoes of those who so inflicted themselves on other people. It is certainly a matter deserving of investigation during the millenium. There can be no nagging questions remaining before the final disposition of sin and eternity begins.

Ellen White said there would be heinously only 144,000 saved (WRONG WRONG WRONG) seen here:

"The 144,000

The number 144,000 represents a problem for Ellen White. In various of her early writings, (Testimonies, Volume 1, p.59; Early Writings, p.14; Word to the Little Flock, p.14, etc), Mrs. White said that there will be literally 144,000 saints that will live until Jesus comes.
"Soon we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus coming. The living Saints, 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice. Then Jesus’ silver trumpet sounded as he descended. He gazed on the grave of the sleeping Saints and cried, ‘awake, awake, awake’. The graves opened and the dead came up clothed with immortality. The 144,000 shouted ‘alleluia’ as they recognized their friends who had been torn from them by death, and in the same moment we were changed and caught up together with them." (Experiences and Views. p.11-13).
When the book that preceded, The Great Controversy, called Spiritual Gifts, was printed in 1860, this phrase was omitted. It does not appear in any later editions of The Great Controversy. Apparently the brethren judged that it could cause a "great controversy" to say that only 144,000 would be saved, when there are many more members in the church!
She taught later that those who die under what they call the third angel's message will be resurrected before Christ comes, and will take their places among the 144,000.
"When the voice of God came, the graves were shaken open, and those who died in faith under the third angel's message, came forth from their dusty beds glorified to hear the covenant of peace."
Following this is the general resurrection. She says:
"The earth mightily shook as the voice of the Son of God called forth the sleeping saints. They responded to the call and came forth clothed with glorious immortality crying ‘victory, victory’ over death and the grave." (Spiritual Gifts, Volume 1, p.205-208).
Mrs. White was mistaken again for she died in 1915 and therefore the vision was false. She was also wrong in stating that there would be only 144,000 "living saints" at the hour of Jesus coming (p.59). The Bible says they would be without number. "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;" (Revelation7:9)."

YOU SAY THERE ARE "CERTAIN RACES OF PEOPLE" well I know what that means, NO! African Americans, Native Americans, Indians, or anyone with darker skin is NOT a separate race and NOT "less than" AT ALL from any others. PEOPLE ARE OF ONE HUMAN RACE. People are 99.9% the same DNA according to National Geographic.

You hate them and say they are less than you and are part ape, you hate them and are racist. Repulsive and vile!

"A Summary of Mrs. White's main points about Amalgamation:

 1. It was "a sin" serious enough to require "the destruction" of the human race.
 2. It was a vile, "base crime".
 3. This vile sin "defaced the image of God".
 4. It occurred both before and after "the flood".
 5. Its effects can be seen "in certain races of men".
But what are we to understand by "certain races of men?" She has not informed us in her writings, but left us to fix the stigma of amalgamation where we see fit. The interpretation has come to light. She told it to her husband, and he made it know to Elder Ingraham, and he divulged the secret that Sister White had seen that God never made the "Darkey" (ie. Negro)." RACISM is seventh day Adventist beliefs!

Union of Man with Animals creates amalgamated species? (RACISM!)

Mrs. White believed the sexual union between man and beast before and after the flood produced different, amalgamated species. This was an old myth that circulated among the uneducated in the 19th century and has no scientific basis. In fact, science has proven that it is impossible for human sperm to impregnate the eggs of non-humans. This statement was so absurd and unscientific that it was removed from later publications.
Which race is a product of amalgamation?

Mrs. White said the results of amalgamation could be seen "in certain races of men." We have been waiting 140 years for Adventist officials to tell us which human race is the result of amalgamation of man and beast.
Stinging criticism of Ellen White in the 1860's forced church leaders to attempt to defend their prophet. In 1868, four years after the amalgamation statements first appeared in print, Adventist leader Uriah Smith, who at that time still professed belief in Ellen White as a prophet, published his defense of Ellen White. In that book he conjectured that the union of man with beast had created races such as the "wild Bushmen of Africa". (See The Visions of Mrs. E.G. White, p.1030). By the way, you will not find this book in any SDA bookstores today!

James White "carefully" reviewed Smith's book prior to its publication, and then recommended it in glowing terms to the readers of the church's official magazine, the Review and Herald:
"The Association has just published a pamphlet entitled, "The Visions of Mrs. E.G. White, A Manifestation of Spiritual Gifts According to the Scriptures." It is written by the editor of the Review and Herald. While carefully reading the manuscript, I felt grateful to God that our people could have this able defense of those views they so much love and prize, which others despise and oppose." (Review and Herald, August 15, 1868).
Smith did not publish this book without careful review from the prophet's husband, James White. His endorsement of the book indicates his approval of the explanation. In fact, because it established Mrs. White's claims, James and Ellen took 2,000 copies of Smith's book with them to peddle at camp meetings that year! By promoting and selling Smith's book the Whites placed their stamp of approval on his explanation of the amalgamation statement.
While Smith may have limited the amalgamation to the Bushmen, some SDA's have gone further. Sadly, behind closed doors in private conversations some white American SDA's believe this "inspired" statement applies to the entire black race.

E.G. White’s Visions teach doctrines that are
absurd, inconsistent and contradictory to the Bible"

There is no "Amalgamation" and you treat African Americans, Native Americans, Indians, those of humankind like trash animals and it is wrong. You have racist disgusting doctrines which are Anti Jesus, WHO IS GOD.

To begin with, this number "144,000," is not a literal number but a symbolical one. The tribes of Israel in Revelation 7 are not the literal tribes of Israel according to the flesh but those who are Christ's. (Rom.2:29; Gal.3:29) The number "12,000" is a symbolic number which means that each one of us has an equal chance to become a member of that lillustrious company of people who shall be translated without seeing death.

The "144,000" will not exist as such until after the great final test for unless one passes that test he cannot become a member of those who shall receive the final seal at the end of the loud cry when the mission of the Gospel shall be completed.

The "144,000" are those who shall go through the time of Jacob's trouble following the close of human probation. They will be delivered from the hand of the wicked at the time of the fifth plague.

Their translation will coincide with the general resurrection taking place moments prior to the appearing of Christ in the clouds of Heaven and together they will go meet Him in the air.

EGW never, EVER claimed that blacks were the result of sexual intercourse with apes. Secondly, to determine what is meant by the term it is best to look at how her contemporaries used the term. Abraham Lincoln, for instance, said "There is a natural disgust in the minds of nearly all white people, to the idea of an indiscriminate amalgamation of the white and black races." Such a big long post that proves so very little.

Why would you say something is "heinous" when it is in the Bible?

Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

WHY DO SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS HOLD TO AN UNINSPIRED THEOLOGICAL POSITION IN SPITE OF BIBLE AND SPIRIT OF PROPHECY EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY

This false concept of considering the Day of Pentecost to be a “shadow” Sabbath has continued from the time of Elder Haskell and is still believed by so many today. Many may not realize but this false theory has led the Adventist theology down a very dark path of mysticism as pertains to the timing of the sanctuary services that relate to the second advent.

it is difficult to understand what your point is from your post, but lets start with you giving us specific books and page numbers where you believe Adventists have done this. Also; are you going to tell us where you cut and pasted this OP from?

"Don't judge by appearances" John 7:24
JESUS'S, GOD"S, words

By hating darker skinned people, you could be hating Jesus, who could have been darker skinned!! You persecute Him, Jesus, WHO IS GOD! It is wrong, repulsive, and hateful

Our DNA is closer related to a pig then an ape! It's impossible to cross bread man with apes. "Amalgamation" did not happen between "man" and "apes"! The SDA Church needs to adment this! There is no human "Race" that is not 100% human, period. We are all one "Race" the "Human Race"!
