• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do Catholics talk about their Church so much (on this forum)?

Well, it's because of things like:

"That is man made error."
"That institution is a mission field full of peopel who need Christ. "
"It is a terrible warping of Christianity, you mean."
"Rome does NOT keep Christ."
"Roman Catholicism is full of lies. It is like mormonism in many ways."
"They have entirely missed the gospel "
"I believe it is a profane institution. "
"I think the catholic mass is sacreligious."
"Marian apparitions are demonic."
"Rome is just endless in its complications and red tape."
"It's truely dead and isn't reaching a lost world for Christ."
"It is hurting people and leading them away from Christ. "
"Actually that's your blindness talking."

As I said earlier, it seems that the Evangelical talks more about what they think about the Catholic Church, then the Catholic talks about anything.
May i ask you something? do you think you are behaving the same way by saying things like this? Or do you feel you are justified in claiming how "ALL" evangelicals feel?
Again: "In my experience, the Evangelical claims to know my relationship to the Father, and judges me accordingly."

Oh no ma'am, you're right; I'm being unfair and I apologize.

I did, originally, post that statement that I have repeated numerious times because I anticipated DD2008 would in fact judge my relationship to the Father; he has done so before, and he did it again.

I do not mean to create a blanket statement, so I apologize.

There is only ONE judge and lawgiver :)

2 Timothy 4:1 Thru-witnessing then I, before the God and the Lord Jesus Christ, of the being-about/mellontoV <3195> (5723) to be judging living and dead according as the appearance/manifestation of Him and the Kingdom of Him
[Reve 11:18]

Reve 19:11 And I perceived the heaven having be opened and behold!
A white horse and the One sitting on it being called Faithful and True and in justice He is judging and is battling.

I do not make threads in GT
see, you started talking about us, about our Church
why do Catholics talk about the Catholic Church? because Protestants keep asking questions or are starting debates with us
Then why doesn't OBOB open up a sub-board to debate on like the TAW board does

http://www.christianforums.com/t7336347-5/#post50380428
No debate board on OBOB question

quote member response: Isn't GT really the Catholic debate board? The subject of Catholic beliefs are usually about all I see over there.

Look at the name. That should be a hint.

Catholic = Katolikos = Universal

It is the One.

Is the word katolikos in the scriptures?

I have to ask you because I know some of you use a latin translation, or something like that, not that I disagree with the Church being one church of Christ (anywhere and everywhere) just wanted to ask.

Those were entering in even before the RCC was set up  ;)

Matthew 23:4 "For they are binding burdens, weighty/barea <926> and ill-bearing. And they are placing upon the shoulders of the men, to the yet finger of them, not are willing to move them".

Acts 20:29 "For I have-perceived this.
That shall be entering after the departure of me, wolves, weighty/bareiV <926>, into ye, no sparing of-the shepherded/flock/poimniou <4168>"
[Matt 23:4/Philip 3:2]

Well, not in my Church they didn't ;). Can one see a sunset if one doesn't acknowledge the sun?

It's not latin. It's Greek and is part of the Nicene Creed which everyone here theoretically subscribes to.

I believe in One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Jesus is Truth, so anytime someone raises something up the flag pole and says "this is Jesus', they're going to get the critical eye. Even protestants warn me about listening to 'men'. Problem is, that's a self-disqualifying comment.
LOL

Catholicism isn't beyond criticism, so I don't know why any ones personal beliefs should be exempt. Where I run into difficulty, often those personal beliefs are exactly that, personal, so any confronting of their personal beliefs could and would be considered a personal attack. And that's no fun.
that's not what I meant. And you're welcome to question mine anytime.
How else can we change and grow?
We aren't called to be static and stagnant but rather to be transformed.
That by the 'renewing' of what? our Minds!
(Now go head and call me gnostic like a certain
EO guy likes to ;)

I love the bible too and it's relevant to my every day life. I have my own personal wolves, as well as pharisees and scribes. They're pretty easy to recognize.
I already told you what their function is. Why buy into it?

What's uncanny is how whatever we're talking about in here in a wonderful and sublime way is presented in the mass. I don't know if this is because I'm thinking about a lot of the gospel a lot of the time, or we're hearing a lot of the gospel a lot of the time, or maybe, the liturgy is divine, and that's why it has a way of explaining whatever it is that's going on in my life.
Perhaps a 'tad' ;) of all of the above, but prolly for the most part,
just because that's how He rolls!
