why do people make fun of jesus?

we will never know. But what we know is the people that make fun of him are the ones who are controled by satan and they are blinded and do not know who he is throughly.

It is unfortunate, but these people don't believe as we do about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. One day, and I feel this day will be soon, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords, King of Kings. You know a lot of times when a person doesn't understand they will make fun of what ever it is. Satan works through all kinds of things on this earth. What better than someone who is lost? Hun all we can do is pray for them, and you contiue to grow in the Lord. I am so proud of you . Tams

It might just be because of where I live and our culture, but I have never seen other religions made fun of in such a way that Jesus is. Budda and other such relgions seem to be "cool." Am I alone on this one, or is this different in different parts of the world?

However, I think sometimes people might take things too seriously, like those "Jesus is my Homeboy" tshirts. I really don't care if some people mean it negatively, if I had one I would love to wear it proudly. Jesus is my homeboy!

well its really just becuase Jesus told us that we would be hated of all men, period becuase he was. we will be hated for what we believe, bottom line, were not supposed to be loved and accepted of all, were not better than our master and he wasnt either.

Jesus is the only truth, and becuase he is the only truth we are the only religion that has real spiritual forces resisting it, nothing else matters to the devil, no other belief resists him.
the devil will cause men to hate and mock Jesus, becuase he wants to tear us down, and Jesus is the only man who ever gave the devil a problem, every other man or belief ultimatly sits at the devils feet.

Sometimes they don't understand, and they are convicted by it. Maybe they've never done a kindness for anyone their whole lives without getting something out of it, and then one day they're a dollar short at the cash register, and you step up and plop a dollar on the counter and say, "THe Lord bless you!" That is frightening to them because they don't understand it, and they sense maybe He is real because that is not something they would have done.

Or, they simply do not wish to be ruled by Him. And you're submissive, which of course is the way to life and it's the only smart thing to do. But they know they just want to do what they want to do even if it destroys them. So they mock Him.

Or, they are afraid of Him. THere is a stirring in their hearts that makes them realize He is real, and they know nothing of Him except that He is powerful and present. That can cause it.

Perhaps people make fun of Jesus because they are not of him. Jesus is not of this world. He said himself that the world knows him not. Only those who are his, given to him by the power of the Father know his voice and understand him.

Your right. What you said reminds me of those who mocked Jesus while he was on the cross by saying "he saved others, let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God." (Luke 23:35)

It's also written that the "natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him." It's natural for people to laugh at things they see as being foolish.

Your right. they laugh because they don't understand. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.

I agree with all the other posts on here, mainly the one that says "they don't understand what Jesus dying on cross, if they did, they wouldn't make fun of Him" there is scripture to back up this in 1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Also, Satan plays a big part in this.

2 Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

But whether they believe or not, every knee will bow and every tongue confess one day, that He is LORD!
