Glad to hear, because neither do I.
I don't worship the father of that spirit child either.:)

It seems like the teachings of the LDS church imply that Jesus is the spirit child of a heavenly father and mother, which in turn have a heavenly father and mother and so on... That might not be 'official doctrine', but some LDS leaders have taught or implied that. Do you really believe that that(the heavenly father and mother, etc.) is really not true Doc?

We do Belive in the fact that there is a Mother in Heaven. But we still worship no one but the Father. This shouldnt be such a shock to people. God teaches that we should be married to some one we really care about, so why not him? And as for that they have a mther and father in heaven, that is not taught in our church, if you have quotes that can be verified from Church leaders then I would like to see them please, (no rudeness intended.):)

Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:9
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

According to Revelation, who is the Bride? Who is the Lambs wife? Why is there gong to be a marriage if Jesus is already married? ( according to you).

What he doesnt add is the rest of your doctrine excluding them from being with God if they dont accept JS in this life or the next. You follow that example very well. Perhaps you could make this point clear from now on.

Joseph Smith, 11th article of faith.
We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

The topic of this thread is why do other Christians judge mormons if that is God's domain. The 11th article of faith (which I recopied) points out that those of the restoration tradition (which includes more than just mormons) allow others to worship how, where and as they may. It doesn't say that we should all go out and persecute them just because they believe and worship differently.

I see no difference between what you accuse the LDS of and the way you all act. You claim that you don't believe the tenets of mormonism, then yell and scream because they believe that they are the "true church".

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT, WHY DOES IT BOTHER YOU THAT MUCH???

I don't believe that you all have all the light and truth, but I don't come here condemning you all to Hades.

Ive never seen a christian on here condemn anyone to anyplace.

If I follow a doctrine, and you think Im in err, would you want to discuss the matter in hopes of me understanding why Im in error, or would you just have a happy day with no worries in the world?

Maybe you weren't reading the board those days, then. ;)

I would certainly sit down and discuss the topic with anyone who is interested in discussing. However, I often don't see "discussions" here. I see lots of contention. Yes, there are some who will participate in calm discussions, and I enjoy those interchanges, and I even learn things from them, but many are just finger-pointers.

I really hate the title of this thread. There are many who post here who while they disagree with Mormonism do not feel that it is their place to judge individuals. I would hope that we could all rise above discussions such as this one, and focus on discussing the issues instead of focusing on individuals.

Annoying LDS are still knocking on our doors and telling us they have more truth than we do. They need to cease and desist! It is rude and judgmental and boastful! Jesus is our truth; He is the most truth anyone can have! Stop discriminating against Christians!

:amen: :amen: :amen:

The mormons want to be seen as Christian but then they try and get people out of Christian churches to join theirs. Why is that? You dont see Southern Baptists going to the houses of Calvary Chapel members and telling them to jump ship and join with them.

I like to talk to them when I see them on the street. I tell them that I have a message of love from Jesus Christ for them. I like to invite them to church with me.:)

:D anyone who solicits anything gets a witnessing by my mother. We have not had one telemarketer or door salesman even get to his sales pitch: they leave before they do. strange...

oh, and she also talked with some mormon people, and ...well, everyone was civil. nothing much happened, actually. she now knows more about Mormons. One thing to say is that they are not Christian (doctrine or otherwise (for the most part with the latter, anyway))

I love John Wayne movies. In the movie "Horse Soldiers" is a scene where Union soliders are fighting Rebels after Lee signed the surrender. When the Rebels are captured the Duke asks the Rebel commander if he knew the war was over. He said yes. The Duke asks him, "Then why are you fighting?" He said, "This is our land and you're on it."

The title at the top of this forum says Christian [i.e. as defined by the forum rules] not LDS forums

And it is only your OPINION that mormons are not Christians. Or did God come down and give you that personal revelation that says specific people are not Christian?

Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Actually yes I prayed about it and had a burning bosom. It might have been my duodenal ulcer kicking up but I'm pretty sure it was the spirit telling me.

This forum is Christian as defined in the rules not LDS. Happy? I don't go to LDS forums and micturate in their pool.

So the fact that other people have judged unrighteously gives you the right to?
