  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do people hate ICE...

Oh come on. I've been to your country and its border and there were no guards there at all. Just unending salty water surrounding your island. Not a guard or fence in sight.

Reading ahead, you live in a weird ideological world. I have no idea what sorts of propaganda you are ingesting. Let's drop in a few comments...
They oppose government power to enforce laws and want a free for all in the name of a DEI utopia. Pie in the sky stuff.
Or as it was when I was a kid, soft drink ads ("I'd like to buy the world a coke" and "I'm a Pepper") and cheezy Superbowl halftime shows.
Its often decends into violence because if we look at all the groups who have this ideology they end up using terror to achieve the destruction of the percieved oppressors.
LOL. We could look at the dystopian chaos of today's protests (sorry there wasn't any), or we could look at the 200 year (probably longer) history of anti-immigrant violence in my country (the one we are talking about, rather than your country).

ICE doesn't act like normal police. They dress like Proud Boys on their way to the Capitol. They show up in moving vans like Patriot Front. Whether their use of brutality is like normal police, I leave to your evaluation.
This is an incredibly weird impression of the opposition to ICE operations. Where do you get these notions?
But their common hate for all things western, whites, Jews and Christians unites them.
That must explain why Jewish groups, Christian clergy, and loads of white people have been regularly seen at anti-ICE protests.

130 of those 170 were arrested for obstructing or assault. Not for being suspected illegals.

I.e. being there, dissenting, disagreeing.

Two obvious things you overlooked. One Australia's land mass does not border another nation. Anyone who tries to come will have to navigate dangerous seas. That's a sort of barrier itself. But we also have very good coast surveillance.

Two unlike the US we had a strong conservative government implement tough border security by stopping any boats coming in and either returning them or relocating them to other nations in the areas for processing. This actually stopped the illegal trade and deterred the illegal trade.

When the opposition Party got in which would be the equivelant of the Dems they kept the same policy unlike in the US where they are fighting the governments policies. This has maintain safe and secure borders for the most part for over a decade now.

Australia has a generous immigration policy for those who come legally. We are actually a nation of immigrants. But you have to have controlled borders and immigration nowadays with all the crime and terror but also economically.
What on earth are you going on about lol. It sounds like you are creating this world lol.

I really don't know what your point is. You started off on the wrong foot above with the assumptions made about my country. So maybe thats go something to do with it.

Hum all I can say is that policing depends on the situation. Though we don't have ICE agents we do have specialised response agents who are trained in terror combating. Which is like a war zone sometimes. So there are different levels of response.

What is happening in the US is happening in Europe and even Britain. I don't know what the answer is.

I can understand that police abuse can happen and the fear of some who believe that cracking down on violence or crime is like a dictator State.

But I also understand that if the violence and crime is getting out of hand and to a point where its actually a public safety issue then the use of tougher policing is necessary.

Its like anything. If you allow things to get out of hand and control then any stepping in can seem like controlling itself. But it gets to that point when people don't put in those measures to begin with and actually help create the situation with poor management and lack of action where needed.
This is an incredibly weird impression of the opposition to ICE operations. Where do you get these notions?
Actually its more weird that you don't see this. The first obvious similarity is the willingness to use violence and terror. Both are using violence and terror for their cause.

Why are Antifa shooting up ICE buildings and agents. Why are other individuals rising up at the moment and shooting to ICE. Why are others attacking them with violence.

Why is there a general rise in violence. Its still a continuation of the same mentality before the election for these radicals. Is violence and murder a legitimised way to deal with that which people disagree.

Wednesday’s shooting is just the latest in a series of attacks that appear to target ICE facilities and officers since the agency ramped up controversial mass arrests and deportations under Trump.

According to a statement earlier this week from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ICE officials are experiencing “a more than 1,000 percent increase in assaults”. This includes: vehicles being used as weapons, driving towards ICE officials, and online “doxing” campaigns (revealing someone’s personal details and address) against ICE officials and their families.

With this peddling of hate and violence how long before agents or police are gunned down. Or their families attacked. Is that ok.
That must explain why Jewish groups, Christian clergy, and loads of white people have been regularly seen at anti-ICE protests.
Jewish groups. They have been the most targeted thanks to this radical mentality that violence is ok to use against opponents. Its very Marxist and you can't see this. This was the basic idea. That in rising up against the oppressors violence was a legitimate means.

For the past 10 years or longer western nations have been cultivating such ideas. This is now the end result of it spilling into the streets. Its happening all over the world. NOt just in the Islamist nations but western nations. And you can't see it.

No Jews, and Christians should be very afraid of what is coming.

A New Era of Conflict and Violence
Globally, the absolute number of war deaths has been declining since 1946. And yet, conflict and violence are currently on the rise, with many conflicts today waged between non-state actors such as political militias, criminal, and international terrorist groups. Unresolved regional tensions, a breakdown in the rule of law, absent or co-opted state institutions, illicit economic gain, and the scarcity of resources exacerbated by climate change, have become dominant drivers of conflict.

In 2016, more countries experienced violent conflict than at any point in almost 30 years.

I'd say its got much, much worse since 2016.

That's being used as a pretext.
The next paragraph:

These cases have often wilted under scrutiny. In nearly 50 instances that we have identified so far, charges have never been filed or the cases were dismissed. Our count found a handful of citizens have pleaded guilty, mostly to misdemeanors.

This is incorrect. The fake picture isn't this one (it's this one), but this one isn't what it says it is.

Video shows 27-year-old detained by police, not child arrested by ICE

This video was taken on 1 April and is actually of a 27-year-old woman being detained for jaywalking - an offence of illegally crossing a road, according to Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Washington state.

Officers spotted the woman running across a busy junction and mistakenly thought she was a child, they said in a Facebook post.

The woman was briefly detained after she provided a name which did not return any records, the sheriff said. She was released with a verbal warning after her identity was confirmed.

...US media have reported multiple cases of children being detained by federal law enforcement since the beginning of Trump’s latest crackdown on illegal immigration.

The fog of war?
