  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And let’s keep in mind, that 70 something million votes is still less than 1% more than Harris received.
What does that have to do with who likes ICE?

From AI:

As of October 2025, Donald Trump's approval rating on immigration is underwater, with disapproval outweighing approval in several polls, though figures vary by survey
. His approval on the issue is consistently higher among Republicans than among independents or Democrats.
Recent polling data includes:

  • Quinnipiac University (Sept. 2025): 41% approve, 55% disapprove.
  • Washington Post–Ipsos (Sept. 2025):44% approve, 55% disapprove.
  • AP-NORC (July 2025): 43% approve, with a slight dip from 49% in March.
  • Reuters/Ipsos (Sept. 2025): 42% approve, which was his highest rating on any single issue in that poll.
  • Pew Research Center (June 2025): 42% approve, 47% disapprove of his overall approach to immigration.
  • Gallup (June 2025): 35% approve, 62% disapprove.
That is where you're missing it.

The polls are speaking of the total populist - the 78,000,000 are Republicans. If you ask your AI what is his approval on immigration among Republicans:

As of October 17, 2025, President Donald Trump (in his second term) maintains strong support on immigration policies among Republicans, despite a broader decline in overall public approval amid mass deportation efforts, protests, and economic concerns. Recent polls indicate Republican approval ratings on his immigration handling or deportation program ranging from 85% to 93%, with no major shifts reported since mid-summer.

Here's a summary of key findings from the most recent relevant national polls (June–July 2025, as no October-specific breakdowns are available):

There are only about 40 million registered Republicans in the US.
WOWSERS - that means 38,000,000 independents and Democrats thought Trump was best for President.

Actually, looks like I was incorrect - we don't actually know the exact number of Republicans (or Democrats or independents) because a significant number of states don't include party affiliation in their registration data. Nationwide, there are about 40 million registered Republicans, 45 million registered Democrats, and 35 million registered unaffiliated/independent, plus about 3 million registered under minor parties (e.g. Green, American Solidarity, etc). That only accounts for ~120 million of the ~190 million registered voters in the country though.

If we consider the ratios in the known data to be representative, that gives you another ~20 million Republicans for a total of 60 million. The point, though, is that a huge percentage of Republicans supporting Trump's immigration policies does not mean that a huge percentage of voters support his policies. Republicans only represent roughly 1/3 of the electorate.

The problem is not ICE. The problem is violent groups like antifa. And people calling for them to be shot and killed.
Go look up some videos of ICE and tell me that throwing people to the ground is normal police procedure.

I don't recall this going on during Obama's, Trump's 1st term, and Biden's terms. And both Obama and Biden exported more people than Trump, and didn't need ICE to resort to these types of tactics.

Right after you go look up some videos of Antifa and these similar groups burning down building, causing billions of dollars in damage and attacking innocent people in cars and tell me it is peaceful protesting.

I've never had a illegal immigrants hurt me or threaten me. I believe Trump and the media over exaggerate. Right now ICE is violently hurting people, illegal or not. They have been beating American people up. Ruining people fun. When ICE can take their time. Without the torture. Like they did, when other presidents. But ICE is doing what Trump wants. Trump wants ICE to brutalized people.

Antifa aren't the government. I would hope a government agency would behave better than an anarchist group. Unfortunately, ICE thugs are proving us wrong.

Compared to ICE, ICE is scarier since they have government athourity on their side. Antifa only goes after select buildings and stores, ICE seams to be coming for everyone.

Basically there are two main positions on Immigration law. Those who want safety and secuirty of borders but also law and order in society. Then there are the radical Marxist ideologues who want open borders and defund the police as they believe there should be no borders and law and order is oppression.

The case for open borders

What is the Left case for open borders?

Sanctuary Cities, Border Crisis Costs, and a Rude Awakening for the Left

The left must embrace law and order

Student acceptance of violence in response to speech hits a record high
Over the past five years, it's gone up almost 80%

The constant talk of offering sanctions for illegal immigrants and blocking the Federal governments attempts to control border, claiming they are legal, as well as the constant talk of making out immigration security is like being Nazis and fascists is fueling the fire of radicals who are now using terror.

The same idea has been pushed by the radical Left over crime. Criminals are victims of oppressive white system and therefor measures are taken to minimize penalties and laws which fuels more crime. The highest crime is in dem cities.

This is the same mentality for when the radical Left kept framing Trump and conservatives as Nazis and that they will destroy democracy. When you keep framing the opposition as Nazis and that they are a threat to democracy then you encourage radicals and that is exactly what we are seeing now.

Immigration agents have held more than 170 Americans against their will, ProPublica finds

130 of those 170 were arrested for obstructing or assault. Not for being suspected illegals.

It sounds like 50 of those arrested were released without charges.

There was a recent court case ordering agents to use body cams. I'm highly in favor of that.

But basically Americans are rarely being detained as illegals. Even 20 of the Americans picked up were kids who were with illegal parents. Which is a LEGITIMATE AND LEGAL thing to do.

So all total, there have been 20 American adults picked up in ICE raids on illegals. Pretty miniscule. And under the circumstances understandable.
