In so many ways, lol...we live under Grace now, not under the Law. We were told to destroy anything that could turn us away from God in the Old Testament, but the New Testament tells us we don't have to anymore, and to share this 'good news' with them ;) :D....

...... It matters not to Him whether or not 'magic' is involved, only that worship of something (one) other than Him is taking place. And it is not for His benefit that He says this, but for those who chose to disobey Him, and chose another way, to their own detriment, for He says it will ultimately lead to permanent separation from Him...

So, are you saying it is okay for a person who worships the Christian God, was baptised (Catholic), Believes Jesus is the son of God to do types of witchcraft such as herbal medicine, aromatheropy, and meditation?
Just need to clarify, because that's how I read it.

Are you insenuating herbal medicine, aromatheropy,
and meditation are witchcraft?

Simply, yeap.
Forms of Herbal medicine and aromatheropy are based on elemental properties and some forms have roots in witchcraft.
Meditation can include out-of-body experiances or interactions with animals or people here or moved on.

Do you disagree?

Okay, so I should add - I do these things, and I consider myself a witch (but not Wiccan)

...herbal medicine, etc, no...God gave us things like this, for our health...but if someone were to worship them, or put them before God ;)...or if, say, combined with spirit worship of some sort :sigh:...

...meditation is a different matter, depending on how you describe it. Eastern meditation (transcendental *sp?*) is not how meditation is described in the bible, which basically means to think deeply on a subject..not to empty your mind...

Do you disagree?

I tend to disagree, however I'm not perfectly clear
why you make these statements.

Herbal medicines predate modern science. Know
where aspirin comes from? The bark of willow trees.
IMO herbal medicines have nothing to do with witchcraft.

BTW..how do you define 'witchcraft precisely'?

Aroma therepy I use daily as well. It's well documented
how certain smells can affect the body as well as the
mind. Distinct smells also trigger the most vivid
memories... Again I disagree aroma therepy has
anything to do with witchcraft.

As far as out of body experiences, I've yet to experience
that, however I have read documentation of Buddhist
monks supposedly performing the act.

I do interact with animals however, yet I don't
attribute it to witchcraft. That I attribute to the
Native American theology I follow.

Granted, you do classify yourself a witch, however,
I'm not sure how you claim these things as witchcraft...

Lilangelheart,
Wiccans are not evil we worship the same Almighty entity that you do. You prefer to call this Almighty entity God and Wiccan's call this Almighty entity God (male aspects of the Almighty entity) and Goddess (Female aspects of the Almighty entity). We all worship the same Almighty Entity although we do this differently based on the beliefs we have chosen to follow. You pray to God through your prayers, and we pray to God/Goddess through spells which are our version of prayers. So let's just say someone is sick and we wish for them to get better you would pray to God and ask for this I would pray to God/Goddess and ask for this also by performing a spell (which shows my intent for the person to get better) It may include lighting candles, using herbs, it may be through meditation by sending out our own positive energy to the person that is sick to aid them in getting better. Some of us may use the aid of other Deities much in the same way that those of the Catholic faith use the aid of Saints. Brightest Blessings,
Starr
I'm not saying wiccans are evil, and I'm sure your intentions may be good, but casting spells for whatever reason or purpose and calling on other spirits for help is what God of the Bible tells us not to do. How can your god be the same as my God when you break so many of my God's commandments in your practice and form of worship?

Ok, just for understanding purposes where do you get your understanding of what is witchcraft? How would you know you were or were not doing witchcraft? Actually anybody can answer this question on their own behalf. :)

Well, I do what the Bible tells me to do and what I do is not defined as witchcraft.

Besides, you yourself define what you are doing as witchcraft and spells.

Yes I know what magick is because I study it. I'm just curious for those who do not study or have studied magick (nope not Harry Potter or Charmed) how do they know what magick is? People say divination is magick. Ok, how does one know exactly what that is? Can someone define diviniation or spell and not plop down some cut and paste from an online dictionary. That's third person. And this is to those who have not studied magick. So no ex-witches helping people out. ^_^

People are quick to say how evil magick is ok that's their right but I'm curious do people even know what magick is? I mean seriously define it without listing the skills to do magick. I mean not the magick is divination and tarot readings and spell casting defining. If people are going to say all of that then explain what those things are? People are concerned about the props and tools. To be honest if people are going to be concerned they need to be more concerned about the practiotioners of magick who need no spell books or Tarot cards or crystals or robes or anything else. They just need their minds. They are the powerful ones. And you'll never know them when you see them. If people want to pray for people who do magick pray for people to have some morals so the magick is for good.

Magic (speaking of real magic, not illusion) is an attempt to use, manipulate, or work with any supernatural thing to achieve a desired result in the natural or supernatural realm (which are just different parts of the same realm, reality) outside of God's wishes.
Biblically, we are to come directly to Him to intervene supernaturally on our behalf.
