CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Maybe, depending on how you're defining "atheism" and whether the ones who refused to answer are atheistic or theistic.

How do you explain the one's that aren't atheists? A girl I used to know was a PhD in Biology and a devout Christian.
How do you explain her existence?

You cannot compare Christ with anything. That's the common ground between Christ and biology (etc.); both can't be comprehended in absolutist terms.

My point was to another poster about how an atheist does not view Christianity as any more significant that a Christian views Enki or the Sumerian religion.
This point is somehow lost on JABG.

The theological explanation (for which I know that you don't care a bit) is that creation is creation. The ''existence'' of Enki was for a reason. That's what we Christians call Act of Providence.

Interesting graph Daisy, where did you get it from may i ask?
If it is accurate data i found the age section the most interesting, also the chemistry data would suggest that either people interested in chemistry are more likely to believe, or the study of chemistry would incline you to believe or perhaps both ?

Again, we are back to the issue of you making a claim that feels to you oh so true and obvious and why can't other people understand but the fact of the matter is that in all of the the threads you feel compelled to make you have provided no persuasive rationale to support your position.
Look, google is certainly not the be all and end all of research but you appear to have done no research (that you have mentioned on these threads) at all.
What is the reader to make of your position if the only thing you can do when asked for evidence is to re assert your position?
It is not easy to have one cherished beliefs dismissed seemily out of hand but on the internet the world of competing ideas is like the Wild West: if you can't support your ideas they WILL get ran out of town.
It's not nice, it's not appreciated but it IS what will happen.
