CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Why didnt God create an infinite number of humans?

Why should he? Seems he does only what he wants to do. Why should he do otherwise? Why an infinite number?

Since the universe was created, it has only existed for a finite time. An infinite number of humans would require an infinite amount of space, which we haven't got.
It would also make it impossible to "preach the gospel to all men," since only a finite number of people (0% out of an infinite total) could be preached to.

No, it can be numbered. It simply never stops being numbered. It's no different than counting from 1 and never stopping...there are lots of numbers and it always grows. Numbering something does not mean concluding or stopping.

He means "infinitely many."
That is, if you imagine the infinitely many whole numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, ...), he means one person for every number.
That's logically coherent, but impossible for the reasons I outlined.

By definition alone 'infinity', 'eternal' etc. can't be numbered. It is a wholly different dimension than time or space. No matter how many years one counts or travels they will be no closer to infinity than the day they began.

I realize in higher math there is a concept called 'approaching infinity', but as those who have tasted the eternal, we know that it is impossible. The eternal One had to take on finiteness to reach us.
