Why Did You Chose Your Username?

Mandrake has been my online handle for years now, and I'm trying to remember why......

Mandrakes are a type of plant with a root that is shaped like a person. I guess that must be part of it. Of course it's also a Linux distro I had a bit of experience with in 10th grade before I switched to Debian and then to Gentoo. That that might be it too. But I never really liked it, so I don't think that's it. They're reputed to be an aphrodisiac, so I maybe I was trying to seem extra virile.

I dunno, but Mandrake I am. I like it.

I'm probably going to try Ubuntu once I can get my trial version of PartitionMagic running well. I'm brand spanking new to Linux though.

My Name is Daniel David B.
so my intials are D.D.B. thus Double-d-b... i got this nickname back in middle school when our youth leader was joking around. My brother names is Chris - so

He starting singing
"Cris B (Crispy) is in the House"
"Doubledb is in the house" - cause he knew my middle name



and sense that day i have kept the name and will keep it forever... Its pretty cool and i never mind explaining it to people.

I've chosen Starlight because I sort of like stars and that kind of things When I can't register somewhere as Starlight because it's already taken, I think of something else, such as, for example, Miracle or Rainbow Crystal I like these screen names, because they sound somewhat... My friend came up with d-11even. My name is Derek, so theres the d, i dunno how he came up with the eleven part, but hes creative that way. So he just combined it and gave it to me saying my msn name was getting old. So from then on i started using d-11even for almost everything. I just like it haha.

i used to always go by the name iargue2... but then one night the Lord brought me to a stand still... i was going through so much... and i just went to my bedroom to turn on some music to calm me down... and my best friend's family had bought me a cd for christmas... i popped it in and the song that came on was walk on water by audio adrenaline... the Lord spoke through it to me pretty much telling me to have faith (this was the first time i had ever really felt God leading me ) and I broke down... ever since then... i've made it a thing of mine... that i'm gonna have that faith talked about in that song... also... something to think about... everyone talks about how Peter lost his faith and that's why he started to sink... but i look at it completely different... he still had faith that if he called out to Jesus... Jesus would save him... and no matter if i have faith in myself or not... all i need is faith in Jesus... and if I have that... knowing that Jesus is within me... it'll replenish the faith i need for myself

When I joined a year or two ago I was a huge LotR nerd. I still am, but not quite as much. Anyway, Nienor (knee-en-or) is in the Silmarillion. Her name means Mourning in Sindarian. I liked the name, and I like her brother Turin a lot. So I went with it. Besides, it's not a very common user name

When I was about 13, I was thinking of a memory aid to help people pronounce my last name (Neve). So I looked down at my knee, made a "V" with my two fingers (like a peace sign), and came up with my little routine: hold up my knee with my V next to it (Knee-V). People have a tendency to remember it better that way.

Mine's Quenya (elfish )...and I originally created it for a LoTR fan forum....cause nearlly everybody there was able to understand the meaning

it consists of 2 words: ainu = God and -hina = suffix meaning child/ daughter....

everyone being able to translate that would have found out I'm a christian....and I just used it on here so that everyone can find out I'm a big Tolkien fan
