Hi all

Why didn't God just take our sins away from God alone in Heaven without sending his Son Jesus to die on this cross ?
It is like asking why a judge cannot just let the criminal off. To do that would make the judge unjust and would be grossly unfair on the victim. It is the same with God.

God is the ultimate judge of the universe. Sin/crime must be judged. God cannot just look away or He will be an unjust judge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

God knew, even before creating the universe that man would sin and He had a plan even before the world was created on how he would rescue man. He sent His perfect Son to be a substitute for the sin of the world. That way, God could punish sin and at the same time rescue man from his sin. That way, God has maintained his righteousness in not just allowing sin to go unpunished and in so doing, saving those who put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. So God has provided a great rescue (salvation) for man, if he will avail himself of it. God has done so at great cost to Himself having sent His dear Son into the world to die for the creation He so loves, you and I. How will you respond to such a loving God?

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

And He is so gracious because he gave Adam and Eve the choice to obey Him or not. There in comes free will.
