Why did God create us?

Maybe God couldn't figure out the meaning of his existence and created us to help aid in his search.

really, we are not that bright, even the most intelligent person in this world wouldn't be able to figure that out. I can't create a human being, the incredible way that our bodies are designed is so complex, we can't even understand how all the parts work.

I'm in awe everyday, whenever I see anything of creation, the sun, the ocean, people, insects, plants everything is perfectly designed. Unfortunately, many of us have abused our free will and messed with this design and still are, is that part of the plan? only God knows.

I'm in awe also!

Just once I'd like to see the question phrased as, "IF God created us". Because there certainly is doubt, no matter what your faith.

I came up with some thoughts about this once, but they don't fit into the Judaeo-Christian framework, as they depend on god not being Omniscient and being bound by time.

The idea is, God is so intelligent that in any deterministic system he/she/it will be able to extrapolate all future events. So, to deal with the crushing boredom this brings he/she/it creates this universe, with 'quantum randomness'. The randomness that underpins the universe permits free will and a non-deterministic future, so God does not know everything in advance and must respond dynamically to events. This is much more interesting to him/her/it.

Of course, as I am an atheist I don't even believe God exists, so this idea is somewhat pointless.

That would actually be rather interesting (and funny). God on a psychiatrist's couch, having his actions analysed by one of his creations.

But only if it was written by proper theologians and psychitarists, otherwise it's just a gimmick.

Then should we throw away our Bibles? God reaches out to people in many ways and according to their gifts. Understanding is also a gift.

My 2.5 year old boy asks a lot of questions. Many of the answers he could not possibly fully comprehend. But I try to answer them for him, maybe use a story, or use language that he can understand. Isn't that, in part, what the Bible is exactly about?

God doesn't mind when we come to Him with our questions djns, any more than a loving parent minds when their toddler asks them one. He wants us to understand.

Are the individual parts of the universe greater then the whole. Or is the universe greater then the individual parts? At one time we thought the universe revolved around us. Now we see that even in our solar system it is us that travels around the sun.
