That is such a great argument for staying ignorant and techno illiterate.

It's not an argument, it's a fact of life in 2020.

"I buy you books and buy you books, and all you do is chew on the covers." :(

There are a few that appreciate knowledge, but most just want to look at themselves in the mirror.

I remember when people still believed in irreducible complexity. Not too many nowadays, except the ones who don't know about this, and this.

But there were wrong about the world they lived in and people today think it is inspired by a god.
Is that why they sterilized pots and pans with fire and running water?

Wow, they cleaned their dishes--that must be a sign from god--who else would have known to do that? Literally every other human on the planet.

The word of God got around, didn't it?

Tried to read the links, began to get a headache.

While it is possible that the mousetrap began as a tie clasp (fellow pinched his fingers, had eureka moment) the leap from tie clasp to mousetrap is an enormous one, requiring several more parts that likely wouldn't have arisen from the tie clasp (although he could have gotten peanut butter on his tie clasp, noticed a mouse eating it). ^_^

You mean the book--the Bible? Ya, it did--Just like the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita.

I read the Koran. Very similar to the bible (hmmmmm).

I think it is important to read deeply and investigate all the scientific data relating to a claim before arriving at a high level of confidence the proposition is true. This is something creationists rarely do. It is more about the Bible and theology than actual science.

No--not similar at all. I was responding to another person who claimed the popularity of the Bible was somehow significant to it's truth claims. That's the fallacy of Argumentum Ad Populum, also called the Bandwagon.

I'm not smart enough, nor have the time, to get into the science.

What do you think of the contradiction between the biblical narrative of creation and the scientific.

I'm an OEC. I see no contradiction. Everything we see around us is mentioned in the bible account. However science believes those things came about slowly with no original design or overall plan and purpose. The whole thing grew up like topsy.

The process of creation in Genesis does not align with science. Why do you think that is? For instance: light before the creation of the sun and stars, or the existence of the firmament.

Genesis 1 is the account of the restoration of the earth, not the original creation. It could have been translated more clearly.
