Why did David sacrifice an ox every 6 steps?

Looking at those numbers made me think of "And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God." II Chron 7:5
On the day that Yahweh told Solomon to ask Him for anything, 1000 sacrifices proceeded that offer. "4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee."
We know what sacrifices are about - Him and our heart conditions.
