there's no marriage in heaven and we were made in God's image and likeness, were we created slightly different?(this is unbiblical)
Seems to be a matter of self-control rather than maturity.

we were made in God's image and likeness, were we created slightly different?
I mean no disrespect to anyone else's opinions or conclusions here, but Adam is not even nearly the same sort of thing as what will be revealed in us when we see God as he is. Adam, and the fall, were part of God's plan (from the foundation of the world) for redemption and the new Creation --i.e. the Bride of Christ. Adam had to die to be reborn, and after the resurrection, we will see why God made us.Let me add more detail to my initial question. Christ is a replacement for the first Adam and while on earth our heavenly Father didn't offer him one or think that He needed one, whereas He felt Adam needed one. Redemption has been accomplished through Jesus Christ, and we can now live as God had initially designed us to live through Him. Adam didn't necessarily need to procreate to get offsprings, we could have all been begotten by the Holy spirit if God wanted it so. I'm just trying to understand why Adam needed a companion, there's no marriage in heaven and we were made in God's image and likeness, were we created slightly different?(this is unbiblical)
So in the cool of the evening, God and Adam are walking along in the Garden, and God says, "So how do you like the woman I gave you?" And Adam say, "Oh yeah! But I've been meaning to ask you --why did you make her so beautiful?" And God said, "Oh that --that's just so that you'll love her." And Adam thought a bit and said, "Ok, that makes sense --I can see that. But Lord, and pardon me for asking, but why did you have to go and make her so stupid?" And God said, "Oh, that's so that she'll love you!"When he is created in God's image and likeness?
Because ot is not good for man to be alone. When he is created in God's image and likeness?
I always wondered why God used Adam's rib.
Just as God is in fellowship, so man should be as well. When he is created in God's image and likeness?
.
Humanity's image and likeness of God is limited.
1) God is a spirit being whereas humans are physical beings.
2) God is an eternal being whereas humans are created beings.
3) God is an all-powerful, self-sufficient being whereas humans are fragile, needy beings.
The term "image and likeness" refers to kin (Gen 5:3). In other words: God intended humans to be His relatives, i.e. His family: not as biological progeny of course, rather, by means of adoption.

Adam is not God. He could not be everywhere at the same time. God decided that Adam needed help for the work that he was given. No animal was deemed suitable. So God formed Eve out of Adam's rib. She is also a type of the church. Only what is of Christ is the church. When he is created in God's image and likeness?
Matthew Henry:God bless you, I never saw that perspective before! Very insightful.
Genesis 2:21-22
21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
I always wondered why God used Adam's rib. This is Almighty God after all. He could of just used Adam's pinky, if he wanted to. Logically, sounds like it would be less painful and work, then cutting out his rib, haha. The ribs are the bones that protect our heart and lungs. Two vital components that process the breath of life, which God originally breathed into Adam, as well. God doesn't do anything randomly, as I've seen now. As I continue to study his word, there is a purpose even in the smallest details, that reveals His love for us, and His everlasting greatness.
Matthew Henry:
"Eve was not taken out of Adam's head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.”
